...ya it sounds easy when i put it that way...i know it's hard...google translator suxs, it doesn't make sence...

and most hardest part would be syncing the text in the game.

I can help.
I got a modded PSP with 3.71 m33-4 with the ISO version of the game.

I saw the .dat files but they seem to be relatively easy to edit.

All i need to know is what HEX editors you guys are using.

i think babazoz was using cooledit32 or something. read through the posts at http://babazoz.wordpress.com/ to find out whats going on.

We have an extracted script file atm. http://www.mediafire.com/?8stdydmxldp
In terms of that you could try figuring out how to tell what part of the script comes next for each voice ID from the .dat files, if that info is stored their.

babazoz is busy getting a video ready for youtube to demonstrate where the project is up to. The opening has already been subbed by Zarradeth using the subs from the anime opening (its the same opening). Once we get video we can get the other videos out for subbing. Babazoz and Zarradeth figured out how to change the images, so now the title screen is translated (yay).

You could try figuring out how to fix the crashing problem when you make the .dat files larger. That would be awesome.

right now we really could use some translators lol. I guess we need the demo video for advertising first =P

:D awsome!
can't wait to see the video, maybe it could inspire more people.

THere is a homebrew application for the PSP called Custom Firmware Extender 1.8.1 for the 3.71 m33 PSP that allows in-game video capture fully quality. :)

Other easy option would be using the camera  ....very simple an original.

huh. that's...pretty good!

I didn't know it had audio,

you know, if i had the audio to go with it, i reckon even i can have a crack translating it.

It has audio to go with it to my knowledge, but I sure hope that it does not sound quite like that. It sounded like static in a tin can on the proof of concept video. However, it looks like it still holds promise.

doesn't matter if it sounds static, as long as its clear, it can help those semi-translators like me, i can understand Japanese far more then reading or speaking it.

Dunno how it is with other people, but im pretty strange that i can understand spoken foreign languages, yet terrible in spitting it out again in that other people can understand, its like i have my own internal translator, but it's kinda blocked when i need to speak to others.

anyway, i'll see how it goes...

oh wait, did someone sent me the text from this?
i vague remember something like this happen, but i forgot where i put it....

hmmm...

You are not the only person who is like this. I have talked to other people who can understand the spoken language but cannot speak/write it for their life. As for the earlier comment on the sound quality, I am an audiophile (someone who is anal retentive about sound quality), so that kind of stuff bugs me.

I think the funny sound was because it was an analogue recording for the sound, while the video was recorded using a program on the PSP.

You would think that such a program would capture the sound as well as the video. It does not make much sense to just capture the video. I would think that writing code for video would be much more difficult than for sound. If the sound input was analog, the sound should technically have been better if the right analog-to-digital converter (ADC) was used along with the correct processing techniques. However, if the equipment used was not that great, you get what you get I guess, but I will take it. The concept alone is cool: translating this game, that is.

Yes, I'm the one who recorded the video, and yes I agree that the sound quality isn't the best.... but it's the best I could get.
I also am one who is picky about sound quality, but there is NO way to record both video output and sound output from a PSP into one nice video file (If you know of one please tell me). I used RemoteJoy to capture the video, but for whatever reason, if you try to use a male to male 3.5mm cord to try and record the audio... there is TERRIBLE feed back, about every second and a half there is a very loud and noticeable popping noise. I don't know why this occurs, RemoteJoy works fine with headphones and without them... and this method works fine to record audio when RemoteJoy isn't running. But, I'm guessing it must be some weird bug with RemoteJoy that messes this, would be perfect scenario, up. This was the best audio I could get after trying about 4 different methods to create the video, the only way I could have reduced the feed back was to run the audio through a filter in Goldwave, but then the audio itself sounded more drowned out. So, I decided that this was going to be the best possible audio with my given situation..... Sorry about the quality, I was sorta annoyed with it too, but again, it was the best I could do...
