man in the past if my friend makes me watch anymore inuyasha I would have actually never consider watching anime, especially watching the dubbed version.

Back to the OP, I do it for the money.

Well I would get paid, but then again I would rather not force myself to do this.

Well... how about for cash?

Being a broke college student, taking up some freelance JE jobs does help to alleviate my financial burden.

lol. Too bad that neither the staff nor the customers in the local ramen shops here speak Japanese. :?

I do love to spend my translation earnings on Japanese cuisine though!

which country do you live in?

Seriously if so many people are eating cup noodles, you might as well start a ramen cart and serve these hungry suckers, I mean well-nutrientize them.

I'm from Hong Kong. :)

There are quite many ramen shops here. The only problem is that not many of them are authentic. I can still remember the nightmare of seeing a local fastfood chain labelling pasta-in-soup as "ramen" just because they serve it in a big ramen bowl. :?

So yea you won't expect anyone to speak in Japanese in these places, except maybe "Irrashaimase~ (Welcome)".

And here in the USA, somebody borrowed the idea of the ramen shop and reworked it in an almost entirely United States way. That chain is called "Noodles & Company". Not bad. They do noodles of all sorts, and on the menu you can find Soba, though nothing that is precisely "ramen". They're more expensive than McDonalds, but cheaper than the next step up. It makes absolutely no attempt to resemble an oriental ramen shop: it simply specializes in fast pasta, and so satisfies the basic market need.

Now? My OCD-ness won't allow me to leave a chapter that I have started unfinished.
