either the Baka-Tsuki translator stopped giving a shit or someone else translated this chapter, because the translation they have up there is terrible. Not only have they completely forgone any sense of style, they also made numerous translation mistakes in meaning (propositional content).

Despite its cliches, childishness, and the fact that just about every single character is a recycled stereotype, it still manages to be an enjoyable read, provided you can manage to accept its gaping flaws.

Warning: The translation is quite bad. Understandable? Yes. Eloquent? No.

My comment about its translation was a mere "I calls em as I sees em" statement. Whether or not he put in a lot of effort in it by him/herself (which I commend him/her for) it doesn't take away from from its lack of flow in dialogue, general grammatical, spelling, and punctuation mistakes.

AND,this here is someone defending Baka-tsuki..this guy deserves a hug from our loli

i can't believe you even said that. The translation is quite bad? The whole project was started from one person who devoted their spare time to translating the novel. If its so bad you should probably stop reading it. If you want something eloquent read plato. People translate for free during their spare time and this is on baka-tsuki unless you've done something for this community i wouldn't be criticizing others.

If you want to read fan translated ones online Baka-Tsuki hosts a few.
Pros: it's set up like a wiki so if you spot spelling or grammar/translation errors you can edit them. Cons: many books are only partially translated and translators are often bad at grammar and readability.

BakaTsuki isn't a fansub group though. People just upload their work onto BT.
The quality of oreimo on BT is such that NanoDesu is bitching on it however

I kind of wonder why the translation of Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls stopped on Baka-Tsuki, the translator hayashi_s most likely had personal or real life situations so I respect that if that is the reason or maybe the Light Novel was a bit too much fan service and not enough story? Just curious.

Translators have a similar life span to slime. Majority of the translators get alienated, get tired or just quit cause its too annoying. Fan-translating is demanding. Maybe he started it disliked the series and quit? In the end its better to learn and read it yourself cause its "their" own personal interpretation.

Besides not all what we have here is bad quality. Actually the grammar is pretty good most of the time, if you ask me... and with all the editors making revisions most errors get fixed fast. I think the guys making those kind of comments are just jealous and making up stuff to keep people away from BT and onto their own sites. So here's to them:



Edit: Previous image was temporary I was searching for a razz picture and this unemotional one was just what I was looking for. In fact I strongly urge the use of it every time someone disses baka-tsuki. If they're working to piss us off and ruin our names. I say we REALLY give it to them no holds barred! And by that I don't mean by outright insults but subtle methods like the pic (ie: Something that really pisses them off while keeping our tongues clean).

Yeah, I think the same, I like BT because here you have freedom and you're not under pressure al the time, I hate pressure, I think about killing people when I'm under pressure.

I understand. Well maybe not to the point of killing. But yeah, I get what you mean.
