Some people are really obstinate to the point of just bashing Clannad for the sake of bashing it. YES, I'M REFERRING TO YOU, KAIOSHIN! I've just about had it with your high and pompous attitude regarding everything ever produced by Kyoto Animation.

You may have every right to moan and b!tch about shows you don't like, no one is forcing you to, but what ticks me off is you trying to embark on a one-man crusade and preach to everyone who loves the show to hate it like you do. WHAT GIVES YOU THE F*CKING RIGHT TO BE SO HOLIER-THAN THOU? F*CK OFF ALREADY!

Oh, and did I mention the ending is really beautiful? Clannad is an epic series, regardless of what pr*cks like Kaioshin says.

Spoilers for my thoughts regarding the Ending:
Spoiler! :
I'll admit that I didn't have much faith in KyoAni handling the ending after episode 20, and especially after how they ended Kanon (I'll openly admit that I hate it, but lets not go there again). After all, they pulled a Deus-ex Machina with Kanon too, and given how bad a taste it left in my mouth, I expected CLANNAD to end pretty much the same way too.

And despite all that, Episode 21 totally changed my mind. Watching how Tomoya suffered, and how Ushio seemingly dies in the end, I couldn't help but wish for a reset. Even though I hate them in general, I actually WISHED for one. I just couldn't imagine CLANNAD ending otherwise. I almost cried when I saw Nagisa living through this time around, especially with Chiisana te no hira playing in the background.

I would rate CLANNAD a 9/10. I finally get why people say that the After Story arc is the best, and the school life arc pales in comparison. In a way, CLANNAD manages to be very realistic (aside from the Fuuko arc and the reset in the end) and portray the real importance of family. My only complaint is that it's a tad bit too long (some arcs I found less satisfying, but that's just my opinion), otherwise, it's a very well told story.

After Story was quite good. The only complaint I have about it is not seeing more of the other characters like Tomoyo. However, I do not think that they could have done the story any other way without ruining it and my day. I just wish that overall there would have been a little more humor to the story to kind of balance the melodrama and melancholy.

I just haven't gotten around to it...too lazy to watch anime?!

Well, that, and I'm dreading all the angst that comes with watching the show.

ep23..
Spoiler! :
i seriously think its just me, because i felt like something hit me in the head after watching this ep, literally and figuratively..

and as i'm one of those who hoped for a kyou-arc ep, it was a letdown of sorts that ep24's only going to be a compilation ep.. kind of like how CSI's reputation dipped after the fielding of 3rd alternate CSI: N.Y.

*ended series results in dead topic*

anyway, found a GREAT MAD. (Link leads to Sankaku, NSFW) imho, it takes a lot to evoke manly tears from me, real or otherwise, and this is one of them. enough to make me want to watch the anime where the song's from..

Fixed for you. --Kaisos

Yeah, I watched that yesterday. Even though I still haven't watched the second season. Guess that's why I didn't feel anything.

@Dan: maybe its because you're doing too much in real life to bother with anime

@Darklor: if Clannad's really not your type then you don't have to watch/play it. there's just a critical consensus out there that most everyone who watched/played it pretty much holds it in high regard, yours truly included.

The game is much better than the anime.

Mainly because the game has the superior version of After Story. Also Kappei.

which makes me that much of a BAKA for not being able to unlock After Story (and also not knowing how to go on Kappei's route)..
