Milking the Cow

Post by ainsoph9 »

While seeing some of our favorite anime series continue seems to be a good thing sometimes, there are cases when we see studios "milking the cow." This topic is dedicated to all of those times when you think or thought that they milked the cow dry or took one squirt too few. Here is a case of them milking it dry:

As for a case where they did not milk it enough, I would argue Berserk, Elfen Lied, Tenjo Tenge, and Fruits Basket are pretty decent cases. What are your thoughts on all of this stuff?

"Ol' Bessie's udders are gettin sore again, better milk her up."

"Oh my god, they're empty!"

Sadly this metaphor is only a pipe dream. :x

Kinda hard to give you an opinion on this one.

Da Capo is one of those shows that you either love or hate, and I'm not in the latter group.

Yeah, I actually began watching the series with Da Capo II and found it entertaining.

If you can jump into any series in the middle of the story and still enjoy it, that is the mark of great storytelling.

That, and the fact Da Capo II takes place 53 years after the first one, where the only thing that's changed are the characters and what the tree does.

I'd say they're milking Higurashi a bit too much too... First a 3rd season, then a live action movie, and now a sequel to the movie, even though the first hasn't even aired?

As much as I like Higurashi, I will agree that they are milking it right now.

I love Higurashi and worship Ryukishi07, but I personally feel that they're milking it too much right now. I just hope they don't butcher the movie >.<

(The OP Theme, WHEEL OF FORTUNE, sounds awesome though)

A lot of Shounen shows that are past their prime are still being milked (Narutard, Bleach, Inu Yasha, 1 Piece, Connan, etc.)

There's also Gundam and to a certain extent, Death Note.

Well, they don't really "milk" me because I just watch all that shit for free anyways.
