Anime Spring 2010

Post by b0mb3r »

I know is a bit early but I just saw Working, which is preview shown before offically airing on April 4th so I thought I might as well start this:

By the same people who animated Kannagi and the recent Sora no Woto I present to you Working:

A comedy family restaurant involving an average being recruited by a little sempai to work park time. I already love the comedy since the guy is normal and abnormal at the same time. the characters are interesting too. it has a similar air to kannagi but also different. I recommend you check it out.
Spoiler! :
Best thing I heard from this show is that the MC conclude he is not a loli-con but a mini-con. lol never heard of those but I sympathize with him.

He likes anything that is small. And he has good reasons to...It was explained in the manga. Working is a 4 square manga, a very good comedical read, and you have yet to even witness the new girl's power! She packs a punch!
Spoiler! :
She will be known as a dog later on, at least thats what happened in the manga.

I am very sorry, but, please begone!

Oh wow I am already loving this season. Here are my take:

Guaranteed:

Angel Beats: Key + P.A.Work = Win
Working: First episode and loving it. Good work A-1 Pictures!

Pending:

Arakawa Under the Bridge: Is SHAFT what could go wrong (Negima?! X Vampire Bund) what could go right (Ef-Tales series, Bakamonogatari, Despair Sensei)
K-On S2: Um I enjoy it and at the same time I didn't. well above average but greatly below great
Sarai-ya Goyo: What really caught my eye is how stylish the character designs are. Also the same guy who did Twin Spica and Zettai Shonen is working on them (both anime which I really want to see)
Yojohan Shinwa Taikei: The same guy who did Kemonozume and Kaiba (another two anime series I want to see too) is working on this.

Lower than Pending:

B-gata H-kei: If the main character is anything like Ken, I'll be happy. How often does a guy aim for 100 causal partners?
HEROMAN: Just curious since the main character supposedly is an AMERICAN!
Mayoi Neko Overrun!: so far I am enjoying the manga but isn't an anime too soon? or not since is already a light novel first. then what is the f*cking point for a manga then? so Yabuki can show off his drawing skills or something?
RAINBOW: Let's see how far these ex- juvinelles/ punks can go.
Senko no Night Raid: Well my father was born Shanghai and my grand-dad survived the Japanese invasion so I like to see how well/super-exaggerated or inaccurate the japan will portray themselves

Well, at the very worst, it can't possibly be worse than this season was. I hope.

Another list

And now that I think about it, B-gata H-kei has that glaring plot hole where the girl can just buy a toy or something

shes does i believe... well, reading the manga was comical, but not that good. a girl that has yet to get her first man, despite her great looks, wanting to have 100 partners, yet in the end falling in love for the very first time in her life.

Already sounds better than encouraging girls to go have 100 partners

a Taiga ripoff (little taller and sexier) with misaka voice.

a Komoe sensei ripoff with kuroko voice.

a Yuki ripoff.

a Viletta ripoff.

a Mikuru maid

and a black-haired guy who looks like Araragi ripoff.

is like combing index, toradora, and bake together.

<Stuff I had willingly put a blind eye on was here>
Because in order for me to enjoy a show things like this does not exist.

Which explains why I'm a sucker for a lot of series.

Heroman... I did read the first chapter of the series... not too bad...
Spoiler! :
The protagonist is a rather simple and hardworking boy, honest and all. He works hard, but seems to be bullied, and seems weak on the surface. He is quite a sucker for heros, or hero toys, but despite him working, he can never afford one. When he was going back from school with his friend one day, he saw a rich kid showing off his new hero toy. However, due to poor manipulation, the toy was hit by a car, and was totally wrecked. Despite it being spoilt, the protagonist picked it up and decides to fix it. After fixing it, he decides to save up for a new battery(the battery is probably wrecked as well). But one night, when he met this girl (who seems to favor him), a possessed man came attacking, and when he lost, the girl was taken away. Just as he wished to change, and cried out from the bottom of his heart, lightning struck, energizing the fixed toy, the control interface of the toy warped into an armlet for the boy, and the toy grew into something like a medium size mecha, known as Heroman.
A brief summary of the first half of the first chapter of the manga, its not that bad imo, but i didnt stay tuned to the manga. Could be quite well done, from the way the story was built. And I might have skipped some details here and there, so please dont mind i hope?

Heroman looks interesting, but my only reservation is that the series does not become too long. Certain manga-ka do not know *cough* how to end a series *cough*. We shall see though.
