To Be or not To Be

Post by b0mb3r »

to get a ps3 or not?

a friend of mine isn't a big fan of gaming? how you say. imagine that his dad bought him a PS3 out of the love of his heart and he never return his love by never even touching the box. meaning it is unopended. he didn't want it anymore so he willing to give it to me for a $50 dollar retailer off. meaning i don't know if its the 20GB, 40GB ie the 80 GB. judging the amount of time he had it (a long time). i gonna have to go to 20GB. meaning 350 for it.

PROS: free internet, huge tv, wirless rounters. tons of new games coming out and good oldies

CONS: Busy man. art, college preparations, travel trips, college, old unfinished games, tv shows to watch, lack of excerise.

A lot of your cons need to be relooked at. You're mistaking trivial things to be on the same level as constituting "busy" (ergo: watching shows). Honestly, while I might not know your situation as well as you do, I would say your argument will come down to this:

"If I buy a PS3, will I be able to maintain the standard of education I want?"

You need to ask yourself that question. Look at your historical actions when it comes to gaming or new hardware and see if there's a correlation between the purchasing of new hardware and your grades. If it's a negative correlation, i.e: your grades go down when you get a new computer, then you're better off waiting till you're in the clear education-wise before investing. Also, you want to see your gaming history because as you said, a lot of the games you bought, you never played enough. Will you be repeating this with your PS3?

Furthermore, your friend is selling you a PS3 for $50 off retail price. The unit is 2 years old. He doesn't use it. I say make him take off another $50 and bargain from there (if you want to buy it). Heck, I would make him halve the price on the "friend-sale" basis.

p.s: Don't answer me. Ask yourself. There's no point telling me your answer to these questions.

Yeah, I would have told him to bugger off and bought Risk instead too. It's the game of global domination!

Risk is a great game, but luck can apply wayyy too much; which is why warmachines is betta, but warhammer is just fail :| .

*Attacks Umi with a greatsword*
*Rolls dice*
*Dice come up 12*

Hey Umi, what's your AC?
I rolled a total attack of 18.

*Rolls for damage*

With 11 damage.

*Hits Cat with an Eldritch Blast*

Rolls the dice.

Comes up with a 4.

Oh, well since only your touch AC applies and I have a +12, I hit you anyway.

*Rolls for Damage*

You take 2d6+4d6+4, which turns out to be...23 damage.

Your also on fire for 2 rounds taking 2d6 damage per round.

Did I mention it bounces to other targets?

...And they're on fire too.

Oh yeah, and I can go invisible and climb on walls and ceilings at any time.

^ This amount of riggedness is an example from an actual D&D character I had made, a level 10 Kobold Warlock.

Oh and I'll say again that Warhammer 40k sux :P

I'd like to be able to fight back, but the most I know about D&D's retarded, nonsensical dice fighting style is that it's retarded and nonsensical.

It takes more skill than Warhammer, but less than the skill needed for Warmachines; does that make any sense to you :| ?

My Warhammer fighting style involves me pointing a cursor at the enemy, and the enemy exploding in gore. Makes plenty sense to me. I'm pretty sure there's a boardgame out there somewhere with all these arbitary rules on how I can't point a cursor at the enemy and have it explode in gore, but that's nonsensical and retarded as well.
