Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
I got every single character. Yay! But my fave is still Kirby. Ike is my second though. It's usually one or the other. Playing with Ike is like playing multi-man brawl in a real brawl. Whack, pow! Whack, pow! Counter, pow! Hehehehe

Brawl was fun, but not enough incentive to get a Wii. With Soul Calibur 4 on the horizon I just can't lower my standards.

Well, it is called "cruel" for a reason.

QFT, although I can't imagine other modes on the "intense" settingUmiman wrote:Wagh! Cruel brawl is insane! How the hell?!
Fave chars/Chars I'm decent with so far:
Toon Link
Gannondorf
Mario
Pit
Luigi (sorta "meh" on this one)
Rob
Snake
Olimar
Sonic (maybe...i have to brawl with him more)
*edit
I managed to get 9 kills in Cruel Brawl spamming Down+B with kirby, I used the same strat on the old solo event in SSBM with giga bowser, gannon, and mewtwo on hard. I think it's quite possible to get 10 or more if you are good enough and lucky enough to pull it off.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
My thoughts:
I'm a Shiek player, so I'm slightly disappointed yet content. She lost all of her air power, but her downsmash is just as good, her oversmash is 3234234 times better(it's actually good now), and her mobility is just as good. It's about as good as I could have hoped for after her overpoweredness in Melee.
I've also been playing a lot with Olimar, who is a lot like Shiek, only a bit slower, has a smaller hitbox, and has longer range on the downsmash. Also, his airs are usable. His biggest problem is his upair, which is awful.

Really? I think Olimar's up air is quite decent. It's like Wario's up special isn't it? I usually play Olimar for kicks though.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Woohoo! I just finished a bout of "kill 3 level 9 AI with every single character". *cheers for himself*
Can't wait for Smash party this weekend.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
All the rigged characters *cough* shiek and marth *cough cough* got nerfed in specific areas while buffed in others to maintain the illusion they are still overpowered. I'm sure glad they suck now. But then, basically all of the melee characters got nerfed in one way or another, they can't hit as well sideways as they used to, so it doesn't matter as much which char you pick.Beware the talking cat wrote:My thoughts:

Got a smash bros brawl tourney at purdue on the 16th, fun!
I think we can agree on some things tho...MetaKnight sucks, and Toon/Young Link is still overpowered a little.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
I love arguments and preconceived notions of overpoweredness and nerfage and weaksauceness and whatnot. Usually it's just in the mind of the user. Kind of like how a tennis player blames the tennis racket for being too heavy with strings not the right colour for making him lose or how your father blames his set of clubs for his sucking at golf. If there really WAS any serious power differences in characters (say... comparing Akuma to Dan Hibiki), you'd be pretty certain to see a lot more discussion from a lot more major parties.
And usually it doesn't matter how bad the character is so long as the player is competent, no? Isn't it more challenging to use a conceived useless character to kick the ass of everyone else? Watching Dan Hibiki kill Akuma is always awesome and watching Jigglypuff send Link flying is hilarious.
If you really want to prove me wrong, fight me online!
p.s: I don't really care if you think I'm wrong or not since I'm aware some of us don't play the same way I do (ultimate challenge with ultimate silly!!!), just add me online so we can play some brawl against humies!

Supposed to help reduce lag and find matches more easily. I'm not sure I've noticed a difference, but who knows?
