zero no tsukaima my first light novel. after watching the whole anime series and after knowing it's a novel, i decided to read it. amazing, my favorite...
i'm new to this forum and i'm new at reading anime manga/novel since i haven't bothered looking for one before. I was preoccupied by watching it instead. but my hobby is reading so i can;t help it now. i want your suggestions for my next anime novel to read preferrably one with the same tone as the familiar of zero. thanks!

well, i havent really read that many LNs considering i only discovered this site a few weeks ago so my favorites will most likely change but i have a feeling that SAO, highschool DXD and monogatari will remain as my my top 3

My Top 5 in no particular order is:

1. High School DxD
2. Campione
3. DYD Series
4. Sword Art Online
5. Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei


High School Dxd was the first Light Novel I ever read. For some lucky reason I accidentally stumbled onto Baka-Tsuki by accident about a year ago when it was first started by
n0m@n and I had no idea what a Light Novel even was until I came to this site and was instantly hooked. The characters, comedy and the wtf!? moments is what really made me keep reading and it still does today.

Campione caught my attention when it was just still a teaser project. Surprisingly I actually read it for the mythology in the story, probably cause I absolutely freaking love mythology. Besides that, the action and the girls....yes especially the girls makes it even better. Ever since Zzhk started translating the project has picked up speed like crazy so thanks to him and all the other translators that joined in too.

DYD series is definitely up there as one of my favorites and how I found out about it was through wikipedia. Just randomly clicking links in wikipedia it came to DYD, saw there was an anime and boom, HOOKED. Love everything about DYD including the magic, tragedy, action, and what little romance there is, also Ferris. Thanks Larethian for starting this project!

Same thing with Sword Art Online I found it in wikipedia but after I found Baka-Tsuki. Kirito is a bad ass and Asuna is a goddess...well in my eyes at least.

And finally Mahouka because of how Tatsuya is a BOSS. This is a MC that literally CURB STOMPS anyone that gets in his way and that's what makes it a top favorite including Miyuki who is adorable.

Some of my other favorites not in the top five are the monogatari series because of Shinobu and Hitagi, Chrome Shelled Regios, Hyouka due to the anime, Papa no Iukoto, Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance, Kore wa Zombie and Index.

For LN's:

Well, I'd like to think that I know a good story when I read one. After reading 2,500+ books and some ~75ish manga series, I've read a ton of stories in my relatively short life. I'm only 22. But yes I love Itsusen, the story was captivating and I actually think it's better than DnYnD, Ferris gets on my nerves a bit too much. Although now I have to try Dango the next time I get the chance.

Edit: It's incredibly difficult to not come across as an arrogant SOB when stating this, so I hope I don't offend anyone.

1. Toaru Majutsu no Index series (no change)
2. Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu series (no change)
3. Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon (new)
4. Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (new)
5. Baka to Tesuto to Shoukanjuu (no change)

Honorable Mentions (stuff I desperately want to put in top 5 but can't due to lack of places):
1. Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria
2. Fate/Zero
3. Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi
4. Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou

Interesting topic. For me, it'd have to be:

1.Sword Art Online (Best Series I've ever read)
2.High School DxD (Most Funny and Perverted series I've ever read )
3.Accel World (Not quite as good as SAO, but close)
4.Campione (Second most Perverted series I've read )
5.Kokoro Connect (Really nice drama, would recommend to anyone)

SAO was the first LN I read on baka-tsuki, and was what really introduced to light novels. I'm looking forward to reading other series as well, but I doubt my top 5 will change; they're just that good.

1. Monogatari Series (Kizumonogatari was really the one that got into me)
2. Kokoro Connect
3. Bungaku Shoujo
4. Iris on Rainy Days (gotta love robot maids)
5. Kamisama no Memochou (mainly because of the anime)

Bento is also a great novel.
