Medaka Box

I remember I was hoping to be like a slice of life manga about student councils helping out other students in a ridiculous way. Then I got disappointed when it turned into a crazy battled manga. I find it funny how it almost relates to Bakuman when the Muto Team was deciding whether to make their manga in the story a battle manga or not when Bakuman itself was before in the low five with Medaka Box in our reality. Still I stuck with it because it is written by my favorite current Japanese author Nishio Ishin. The Flask Plan was bad but it does have cool unique twists. I realize I have to see this as a play, a exaggeration of outlook on life and human philosophy. Then came the Minus arc and it became so much better. It may have been a bad manga as a whole but it definitely gave birth one of the most interesting villains I have ever seen. I dare say he is as bad, twisted, mad as the Joker from Batman series/Dark Knight. his name is:

Kumagawa Misogi

So all I am asking you to do is to read this manga for him. Just. For. Him.

The only reason I'm reading it is because NisiOisiN is working in this one. Seriously, that man is a genius. No matter what his characters are talking about (be it a discussion about philosophy or a simple conversation) he always manage to make it interesting and fluid.

Totally agreed. i have heard that the zerozaki even has his own spin-off series detailing his origin. I kind of prefer the japanese covers.

Medaka is certainly portrayed in a ridiculous way, but, hey, at least we have Zenkichi and his bunchof ragtag mistfits to help. Plus, (IMO) it's a lot more interesting than many of other Jump Shonen manga.

And the latest chapters show (again) how awesome is Kumagawa. I just love that guy, if wasn't for him I would have stopped reading Medaka at the end of the Flask Plan.

The monogatari series is pretty fluid, but I get the feeling that for Medaka Box...it's way too bipolar.

I do that, like when I feel like. The only ones that I don't miss are Nurarihyon, Medaka, Beel and Kagami no Kuni. Though only for the WSJ.
