The series has a total of 13 volumes.Cosmic Eagle wrote:How many Circlet Girl volumes are there currently....?

Apparently the definition of SF is much looser over there in Japan. But given the content and the complicated settings, likely a SF reader can better appreciate the story than an ordinary light novel reader.

Well that sucks....13 volumes is too much for me considering that I've Horizon 4C and C^3 on my plate as well as Owari no Chronicle 2A....

I just glanced through the last 10 weeks' ranking of Oricon charts. It seems like both volumes of Biblia Koshodou are in the charts every single week even though they are not new releases. Quite a bestseller, I'd say.

Re: Novels-concerned news
The series is arguably both a light novel and conventional literature work, attracting both otakus and the public while getting the best of both worlds in terms of sales. The last time I checked its sales figures has gone past 870k.larethian wrote:I just glanced through the last 10 weeks' ranking of Oricon charts. Light novels: As long as enough copies are printed, 初動 in the first week accounts for a great majority of sales. Sales after the first month are negligible unless there are new pushes such as anime adaptation.
Conventional literature (general): a gradual and linear increase over a period of a few years. New pushes such as literature awards will accelerate the speed of increase but won't result in sudden spikes (i.e. rapid increase with fast decrease thereafter) on the sales graph like light novels. Works by top authors like Murakami are exceptions however as they are booms from Day 1.

The latest figure is 1.03 million - a figure totally unimaginable a year ago. Congrats to the author.Doraneko wrote:The series is arguably both a light novel and conventional literature work, attracting both otakus and the public while getting the best of both worlds in terms of sales. I didn't even know there was a second volume. Anyway, glad to hear that since it was an enjoyable read.

But even for manga there are quite a number of titles that do not rely on 初動, due to the much wider demographic of its readership beyond otakus.

Re: Novels-concerned news
So, that means he has four book series all going at the same time. He's spread too thin unless he is settling for the quantity over quality argument of making money. To do so, that means a fresh anime series needs to be created since anime drives merchandise sales. His new LN seems like a topic with good chance of being an anime as long as the story is popular. Valkyrie supernatural warrior and her semi-shota human sidekick with a relationship developing between them - the NEETs are drooling!!!stellarroze wrote:Toaru Majutsu no Index Novelist to Launch New Series

Do the Japanese have a tradition of using ghost writers or uncredited co-writers as do american books?
