YES!! after who knows how long, SnS is finally up!!
Seeking GOOD translators... not that i have anything against others, but the thing is...
When i first started out the project, i realised how tough it was...
I totally underestimated how hard it could be...
So!! Unless you are confident you can translate one whole chapter (time does not really matter, as long as you dont take a year), well, leave the chapter to others?

You can also attempt and let us know when and where you give up at, then we can maybe try to touch up on the work...
Basically, all is welcome!!

My personal belief:

Translator: bring forth the meanings of the author (Requires commitment, proficiency in English and Chinese/Japanese)
Editor: rephrase and edit the translations of a translator for readers to enjoy (Requires a good proficiency in English)
Reader: read and feel free to tell us your comments (Requires love for Shakugan no Shana, and if possible, B-T too)

Afterall, even God-like editors cannot do a thing if the author's meanings are all distorted at the translator part... We(I) do not seek 100% of the meanings to be maintained, but at least as far as possible?
And that is just my belief, might be different from others, feel free to correct me on that too.

We will eventually have to take note of the names used in the novel, for example whether to follow english or jap names, or a mixture of both etc etc, but as we are only starting out, we shall not look into that yet.

A lot more to discuss regarding this series, feel free to make posts to discuss them or bring them up!

Viz did not exactly license it it seems, and Viz will stop their translations it seems...
To be short, SnS vol 3 onwards will not see daylight in english...
So i am currently translating it, until further notice?

Whatever are you talking about? I never even touched this series. I was about to propose to Oni on doing it on one day in 2006, and then Viz says they've licensed it the next day. Talk about terrifically bad timing.

Doesn't matter now, I'm tied down with Toradora to be able to do anything else at the moment.

May I know if you are translating from Japanese or Chinese script? Because if you do Japanese, it would save me the trouble of proofreading the text using the Japanese script. I'll just edit the language and stuffs like that......
