As brought to you by google translate xD
もしそうなら、
In that case,
実験台にされたこっちとして
As for (those?) on the lab bench here,
は溜まった物じゃないけれど
(they?) aren’t the gathered ones however
It's probably not 100% accurate but hopefully it'll help?

Well since I'm here I'll ask a noob question
can 悪いな be translated as "Too bad" depending on the speaker's tone or is it always translated as "Sorry"

depends very much on the context it's said in, I've even seen it used where it meant, "my bad". It still mean't I'm sorry, but it was said in a way, (flippantly) that you could only translate it by saying my bad.

Context hm...uhh that would be it being said after the guy stabs a girl through the chest with a sword & saying he's taking his kickass title back lol. But seriously it's from seirei tsukai vol11 prologue, 「悪いな。〈最強の剣舞姫〉の称号、返しても貰う」honestly this is my favorite line from that series, also I think "Too bad" would be more badass than "Sorry" but I guess either will work. Well if both Kuro & Mizuho translated it as Sorry it must be the correct one.

They have it right, but the beauty (and hard part) about japanese is there are overtone's to those words in that context, which in English we miss out on.

Not sure what the subject is, and what こっち might refer to so my translation may not be entirely accurate.

"If that were the case, it would mean we've been acting as experimental subjects until now."

@Kuratatsu, 悪いな means "sorry" or "don't hold it to me"
残念 would be closer to the kickass "too bad" you've been wishing for.

I'm a bit curious, how come no one posts in the Auxiliary Brigade TLC thread? Pretty sure more people would notice it there than here.

The middle line is enough. The other two lines were put here for context.

It might mean dirty as in 汚ねぇ http://myanimelist.net/character/25047/Tane_Kitsu or it might not but I'll mention it anyway xD

Well I solved that by guessing the intention...

So anyway...

How do we specify that a character is using "boku"? In Shurabara, Hoshikawa Saotome (a girl btw) refers to herself as "boku", whereby I need to mention what kind of girl she is.

Now that I have no idea, I have seen some translators add a * like "I*" and add a note at the bottom of the page to explain it. Well it's really up the to translator in question.

How about this:

自分に素直と言えば聞こえはいいが、少しは理性を働かせなければ獣と変わらんというのに……

Please help.
