Once again, I need help with a few sentences. They're all unrelated to each other but I'm unable to decipher them.

隙あらば遅刻して掃除もさぼろうとする俺とは、根本的に脳の構造が違うらしい。

道は絶対自分から譲り、買い物をするときも「これください」とは言えないタイプである。

ま、しょうがねえよな。

Thanks again.

Also, how should I go about translating sound effects?

As someone who when given any chance would even skip the punishment of cleaning up due to being late, it seems that the structure of my brain was fundamentally different. (Not sure about this one)
道は絶対自分から譲り、買い物をするときも「これください」とは言えないタイプである。
He/she was a type that would never yield way themselves, or say "thank you" when buying stuff. ("I'll have this please" would be more literal but makes less sense (at least, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say it))
ま、しょうがねえよな。
Oh well, guess I've got no choice.

What does しっぼ mean? Here's the sentence I found it in - もうひとつは、彼を見上げてしっぼを振る犬の思い出だ。

Thanks :)

I just started on Kampfer volume 1 chapter 3. The first page has a line that's giving me problems. I think it's a colloquial phrase about pumpkins and cabbages (???):
Spoiler! :
くそ、覚えてろよ。俺がカボチャならお前はキャベツだ。
Larger clip of page for context:
Spoiler! :

I kind-of understand it, but it makes no sense to me... any help would be appreciated.

Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance

「いや、だから、その、俺は戦力外ってことでひとつ……」
「どーいうことよっ、あんたの戦力あてにしてたのに!」
Hmm, I can't understand the first line, second line provide as sort of a context

Kondou:

Damn it, I'll get you for this. If I'm a pumpkin, you're a cabbage.

I have no idea whatsoever. Maybe some sort of pot calling the kettle black...?

KuroiHikari:

"No, that's why I'm trying to say that, um, there's the thing that I'm not exactly up to par..."

Or something to that effect. I'm not really sure, since you provided no sentences which came before...

The context is a bit further up but
Spoiler! :
you can say they found out his battle strength or 戦力 is crappy and they were going to have a battle soon

Thanks KuroiHikari, that's what I got also. The "pot calling the kettle black" doesn't quite fit, so I think I'll leave it as is with a note that it's an idiom that doesn't translate well.

Whoops, I meant thanks YoakeNoHikari rather than KuroiHikari, not that I don't thank... ah... sorry!

たしかに、公式試合で地道に学内ランキングを上げていくよりははるかにマシだ。
「--わかった。任務の内容を話してくれ」
「そうこなくてはな」 <--How do I translate this?
カミトがうながすと、グレイワースはふっと微笑を浮かべた。

Thank you

"That's the spirit." "That's what I wanted to hear." "Now that's better." - something along these lines.
