Well, I'll make this clear. Here are the original titles:
* Prologue: 行動開始 The_Page_is_Opened.
* Chapter 1: 学園都市 Science_Worship.
* Chapter 2: ローマ正教 The_Roman_Catholic_Church.
* Chapter 3: イギリス清教 Anglican_Church.
* Chapter 4: 天草式十字凄教 AMAKUSA_Style_Remix_of_Church.
* Epilogue: 行動終了 The_Page_is_Shut.

Not necessarily, as often the Japanese chapter title differs from the English one (and the Japanese ones can get quite a bit wordier). In this case, chapters 2–4 are probably the best translation since it seems the author just translated them...sort of—there's a reason there's a debate. The other Japanese titles vary, like Chapter 1 would be "Academy City
Science_Worship." You can see the English title just by looking at the contents page in the novel illustrations (assuming the scan is good enough), though sometimes the author doesn't put in English titles, like in volume 4. And the two titles aren't always necessarily related, like in volume 13's chapter 6: "Streets beaten by the cold rain
Battle_Preparation."

Don't forget that they use Italian as well in Volume 11.

Hm, so the meaning can differ? Shouldnt then be a "-" between those two parts of the titel, so that the second part is like a subtitle?
And when it is like that then I would believe that those characters ローマ正教, イギリス清教, 天草式十字凄教 arent names for Churches as Religions (or places), but names for the faith or the doctrine of those Religions (or those factions involed in the story). The British pure teaching, The Roman true teaching, The Amakusa weird/uncanny teaching. And ロシア成教 the Russian transmuted (or what can be made of "成") teaching
And / or shouldnt we put an "-" rather an "_" or a blank between the parts of the second sentence? - I have changed those underlines to blanks in those sentence because I thought someone had forgotten to remove them from internet links which cant have blanks in its address and they looked strange in those sentences.

Nope, they're there in the original as well.
Here's one for example. It's the first page of volume 11 prologue.

Well, we obviously have some differences between translator preference, but for the most part the first title is in normal text, and probably ends with a period, with the second, original romanized title in italics (We could probably slightly space them out more?). And the reason the underscores are between the words is because the author put them there, though he occasionally uses other symbols. Why they're there is probably for the Japanese audience and tradition (since volume 1 started it), since the they have symbols for spaces stead of, well, spaces. Though I don't think the underscore is actually one, so he should've just used spaces.
Also, I don't think either of them are really subtitles, but more like two titles. Kind of goes in flow with the author's heavy use of furigana for key terms—which has the use of spelling out how to pronounce a word—which he often uses to give a key term two different meanings instead of the proper pronunciation.
And for the 'names of the doctrine' part, I think they use those in-context in the reading as the religion, though I'm sure someone else can go more in-depth.

Ah, I meant for now the translation. Do the Japanese language know of the use of a "-" as a way to separate title and subtitle?
Hm, and should then those underlines added back into the sentences?
With my lack of knowledge of the Japanes language I would think vol 7 is as if someone is reading a (magic) book in a movie (and would translate that as)
行動開始: The Action begins: The_Page_is_Opened.
行動終了: The Action ends: The_Page_is_Shut.
(And while Academy City has Science worship, the Churches follow their faith/doctrine/teaching (would prefer teaching as contrast to worship
)
)

EDIT: Well. I think we can just leave it as it is. I'll go about doing a snapcheck later (I hate myself for saying this), so if there's anything, just leave me a PM.

Since the text originally give it as how it is, better leave it as it is for now, I know there's going to be hell once someone changes something now.

I'm very sorry to ask if this has already been answered, but regarding
清教派
What does it translate to? I'm encountering this as I'm reading up Volume 17. Would this be, by chance "The Royal Family?" As in, the British Royal Family in the novel?
EDIT: Nevermind... I should've remembered it's the English Puritans or something. A.K.A the Anglican Church faction or something?
