Well first of all a great thanks for everything the comuty have done so far, I simply can't express the thankfull I am for everything you have here in a resumed way Thanks for all.

The subject of these topic is for propose Chrome Shelled Regious as an a translation project.

Why? Cause I started to watch the new anime and I liked it lot and I looked but I couldn't find any transalation of it and unfortunately I'm unable to read it in the original language.

So knowing that you are the best I dare to ask if this is simply posible?? at least i know that there are more people looking for it, as i said by the boom of the newly anime, it could be a great chance to atract more public :D .

i think that's all and once again thanks for everything. Finix.

Should a new topic for this be made, following the "Guidelines for project petition" if we wish to get more responses?

The responses depends on the individual members, if they are not interested or tempted to, they can refuse to reply, this is not a forum where the number of posts counts.

However, it would be nice to introduce the story, maybe throw in an illustration or two to get people's attention. Instead of just saying "Hey that seems good, translate it please." Because most of the translators are busy, so unless it is something that really attracts them a lot, things may not move on at all.

Chrome Shelled Regios

Author: Amagi Shuusuke
Illustrator: Miyu
Series Length: 11 Volumes, on-going
"The world was infected by "Pollutant" years ago - the world was split and devastated. This Pollutant spawns vicious "Pollutant Beasts", but it's also resulted in people gaining special powers. The towns that now litter the world are protected by military artists and are mobile - these are the "Regios" of the title."
Synopsis:
Layfon Alseif is a hero. One of twelve Heaven's Blade Wielders, a title given to only the most powerful military artists in the militaristic city of Grendan, he is ranked among the strongest people in the devastated world. However, he betrayed his people's expectations, was branded a traitor, and banished from the city; but not before being kissed by his childhood friend Leerin Mafes, who hopes he will return one day. Making his way to the Academy City, Zuellni, he vows never to fight again, and attempts to enroll as a normal student, burying his past. But his desire for a normal life eludes him, as he is forced into the military arts wing of the Academy by the scheming student president and ruler of Zuellni, Kallian Loss. There, he is drafted into a squad of soldiers, Platoon XVII, and forced to fight for the city's benefit in the war games that decide the fate of Regios. He is also used to protect the city from the "Pollutant Beasts" that it cannot fend off or escape from, and from the various thieves and bandits that would profit from sabotaging or destroying Zuellni or taking the Electronic Fairy (AI) that controls the city.

Gradually, Layfon accepts this life, and forges bonds of friendship with his squadmates: Nina Antioch, a runaway and heir to a powerful lineage of military artists who strives to become strong enough to protect Zuellni (the fairy) and who was initially jealous of Layfon's power, which was so far above her own; Charnid Elipton, a lazy sniper who was once in another platoon, but parted ways with them on unknown terms and joined the weaker Platoon XVII; Harley Sutton, a childhood friend of Nina's who came with her to Zuellni; and Felli Loss, sister of the president and the second-most powerful person in Zuellni. Like Layfon, she was gifted with an immense power and forced into the military wing by her brother, but she wishes to find her own path in life. He also forges bonds with non-military members of Zuellni: Mifi Lotten, a budding journalist and photographer; Naruki Gerni, a trainee policewoman; and Meishen Trinden, a girl he saved on his first day in Zuellni.
Most of this is from what I can infer from the anime, the multiple manga series, and what little I can understand of the novels.

The story follows a mixed path of high school life, romance, comedy, science-fiction/fantasy action, and drama.
Spoiler! :
Towards the later novels, elements of harem competition begin to appear between Nina, Felli, Leerin, and Meishen. We also get more detail on what caused Layfon to be driven from Grendan, and hints of a greater conspiracy in the world that stems from the time Pollutant was first released. Another series, Legend of Regios, covers the beginnings of the devastation of the world, with three volumes published so far.
There is already a Chinese translation project up, which have translated up to volume 5, and the original Japanese volumes have been scanned and uploaded to the Internet. I'm not sure if I should post the links, so I won't unless it's OK'd. If this is an extraneous topic, please merge it with the old one.

Im interested in this as well....

But of course...im also interested in alot of series but have nobody to translate it.

So what it all comes down too, is if you can find a dedicated translator to agree to translate it. Make a chapter, and its approved.

Ehem. Now I'm tempted to correct some things...

IIRC, the only mechas I'd approve as mechas is the cities our characters dwell in, and yeah they are not controlling it. The cities each have a some sort of a guardian spirit that controls their movement.

The story's more like... try using action + fantasy as your base of the story while putting on a high school plot setting. Of course, Regios didn't win the Best School-life themed (read: SCHOOL) novel for nothing. At first I even wondered: "did they confuse Rental Magica and Regios that RM got sucked into the Best Action award, while Regios got a Best School award?" but that doesn't matter now considering I've started taking my insights into Regios.

I apologize for my mistake, as I have no idea what the story is about, and by the illustrations, i expected it to be mecha of some sort... Sorry... So how do they fight anyways?

Hmm... I'm not an expert on the novels though, being exposed to the novels only at the moment I learned about the anime.

But here's what I can see...

The mecha are the cities which means they are moving cities, and they are called Regios as a previous post explained. In the current city (named Zuellni) in which our protagonists reside, is an academy city where students of various courses undertake their studies there. And that includes the Military Arts stream - most students of that stream are somehow the ones expected to join an inter-city competition (in which in our case, we'd call it as a war instead, done friendly...???) in which the winner gets to secure mines from the losing side. Zuellni used to have many mines in the past but right now they only have one left - and that's when our main hero dude (Layfon Alseif) part kicks in.

Layfon Alseif is by no means an average Military Arts student, even though being a first year; he is actually one of the honored fighters from another city (Grendan). But he appeared in Zuellni after being demoted due to some sort of a dishonorable act he did in the past, and lives there for the sake of starting his life anew not as a fighter but as an ordinary student. Unfortunately the Student Council President (which is basically the City's leader of some sort) have already learned of his past and his strengths, thus arranged a plan of sorts to draft him into the Military Arts division; and assigning him to Platoon 17 (led by Nina Antalk). Each platoon will have matches in each other to determine their positions in the inter-city competition as stated above.

Well, I am not sure if this helps your understanding or not, but do let me know if there's any other issues.

I really want this to be translated. The anime is pretty amazing, but i can feel that it misses a lot of small details...

Hm i wouldnt really call it a mecha anime, as for how do they fight, i find it somewhat final fantasy like. Anyway it would be awesome to see this translated since i've been looking around for the books but... that was an empty chase so far
