Re: Candidates Suggestion [Poll Update] Vote!
So it is already sure that it will be again a joint subforum?
And wouldnt it have been better if the projects wouldnt have been already paired but alone with 2 votes for everyone and the two with the most votes would have been paired i the end?

I think so too, but I would fear that a change now could remove the votes...YoakeNoHikari wrote:Ah...Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't it 'Infinite Stratos', rather than, "Infinity Stratos"?
Please don't mind my bad english since I'm german.

Well all combination of each Joint Candidates are represented here, just listing each candidate on their own and giving each voter two choices is exactly the same thing. :pDarklor wrote: And wouldnt it have been better if the projects wouldnt have been already paired but alone with 2 votes for everyone and the two with the most votes would have been paired i the end?

No it's not.onizuka-gto wrote:Well all combination of each Joint Candidates are represented here, just listing each candidate on their own and giving each voter two choices is exactly the same thing. :p
Let's assume, just for illustration, the following situation.
We have 4 project candidates, A, B, C and D. The votes are:
AB: 20
AC: 10
AD: 5
BC: 0
BD: 0
CD: 15
Result: AB pair wins.
If the candidates were alone and each voter had two choices, AC pair would win, since C has 25 votes and B only 20. The votes would be the same of course - their calculation would be different.
And I agree with Darklor - the system he proposed would be better.

BTW, since we removed TWO spaces, why not add three novels to the main pae? I'm thinking about a single project like SAO, and a joint project.

Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria 5
Hidan no Aria 16
Infinite Stratos 6
Sword Art Online 13
That's how the votes pan out as of now. Personally, I don't really care which system we use, since we can always count it out in the end.

If i gave everyone two votes, and the poll REQUIRES two candidates for a Vote to register, the outcome would be the same as all joint combination represented above.
Your scenario of odd number of votes occurring in with "individual candidates with two choice selection" comparison to the current "Joint-candidate selection" above, would be if more then one person select only one candidate, or that in the current version above, do not represent all the options of the "joint-candidate" available.
If both versions of the "individual candidates with two choice selection" & Joint-candidate selection" are error free, providing the voter with two votes and the option to select one combination out of all that are available, the end result will be the same.
So unless I'am truly blind and missing something here, I won't be changing this poll format....

You misunderstood me
Well it's my fault, I should have explained what I thought in more detail.
Okay, let's suppose we have 50 voters, 20 of which like A and B, 15 C and D, 10 A and C, 5 A and D. The current voting system gives just these reaults, AB wins.
Let's now allow the same voters give two votes each for these projects listed separately - just as you said, "and the poll REQUIRES two candidates for a Vote to register".
What we would have is:
35 votes for A
20 votes for B
25 votes for C
20 votes for D.
Just the same votes give the different result, now AC pair wins.
Well I don's insist you change the poll right here and now, since the winners here seem obvious no matter what system you use . It's just a principal question that these two systems are different.

If you count the votes a certain way, you can use your system without changing the poll.

No... Because if I just want SAO to have a subforum and don't care about any other series. My vote would skew it since I didn't care where my 2nd vote went. I just wanted SAO to be on the board. Picking any of the choices with SAO in it.

Re: Candidates Suggestion [Poll Update] Vote!
Wow, what a strange way to put vote options Oni.
Anywho, poll is now closed with Sword Art Online and Hidan no Aria being the decisive victors at 16 votes.
Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria and Infinite Stratos, better luck next time. Let me lead you out to the firing range so you can receive your runner-up prize.
Man, does this mean I have to make up another forum icon? I think I lost the PS template.

Well, seriously, we can take off CLANNAD and put all those four insted, I think. And put Fate/Zero+Toradora in another category, along with Clannad.

Re: Candidates Suggestion [Poll Update] Vote!
Toradora is complete is it not? And what is the status of Zero? Clannad has been like 99% complete for years now according to Velocity7 I believe, with no plans to make it 100%.

Don't forget that the Tomoyo AS may still be worked on and that there have been activities on CLANNAD recently by Polarem (and let's not to forget the licensing question the other day).Well, seriously, we can take off CLANNAD and put all those four insted, I think. And put Fate/Zero+Toradora in another category, along with Clannad.
