I think it almost imposible to squeeze 11 volume of light novel into 26 episode anime. I hope Madhouse will make the anime like Toaru where they make 2 season (26 for each season) and only up to volume 14 of the light novel.

I really happy for this news because i really love this series. I read mahouka every day when i don't have anything to do. But i also hope this anime wont getting well in America. I dont want mahouka get same fate like SAO. Got licenced and have to abandoned by bakatsuki.

I agree with you, Just like To Aru got 2 season (26 eps each) and only reach Vol 14
so I'm "HOPING" that for volume 1-7 (9 school competition) will reach at least 26 eps or more with OVA for Vol 5

my guess and my hope for this is that they will go for the 24-26 eps and use the materials from vol 1-4 and perhaps even vol 5 as a finisher if they finish early and could use vol 6 as ending for getting some extra hype up in foreshadowing that etc
well im just greedy and wants lots of MKNR ^_^ either way i hope they stay true to the light novel and focus on the important stuff and not try and get sidetracked by trying to apply shit for other types of fans and thus losing and incurring the wrath of the current fans for the type of serie it is! sry bout the rant, just kinda had to get it out since i see it occuring often that some good novel/manga etc gets butchered because they try out new stuff which doesn't fit in with how the characters are blah balh rant ends here.

Well, I do believe that says "broadcast in April 2014", so that would probably be a safe assumption.

Madhouse has a solid reputation when it comes to faithfully animating material from other sources (Monster, TRC, etc.) so I find it highly unlikely that such a revolutionary alteration would be made in the anime.

And the mild fact that the Japanese fans will come out with torches and pitchforks. After all, they're the ones who bought millions of copies of the books.

If our greatest concern with the Anime adaptation is that they took dramatic license with the spell casting, I'll be a happy man. I do recall at least a few instances though where various characters actually do make different motions to aid in their spells. Especially Mikihiko but since he's an Ancient Magic user I suppose that's unsurprising.

Since magic is a rather big part of this series it has to be visual to some extent. I've not seen the first PV for a while but the part with Miyuki casting aligns exteamly well with a vol 1 novel illustration. So I mean, that type of visual display of some magic is already in the original work.

It just came to me that volume 8 - Reminiscence Chapter would make a good anime movie.
This is my opinion though but I think the plot would fit for the required time frame of an anime film
and the setting of the volume has that "movie" type of feeling.
With the rest of the volumes in the anime series.
