Hey I am a big happy ending fan myself but I honestly I don't think it will happen. Another possible ending is him dying to regrowth after something happens to Miyuki ( this still falls under brain collapse ).

yeah the author left us with one hell of a ambiguous ending and I can see that something like this could very well fit with MKnR.

Why are you all assuming the author will ever actually END the series? I think if there will be an END to "The Irregular At Magic High School" it will be an open ending that will allow the story to continue to "The Irregular At Magic University" or something similar.

Unless author gets sick or dies I think we have many years and/or decades of Mahouka still left to come
