Re: Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Names & Terminology
Got a question on Akechi Eimi's name. In Volume 12, Chapter 5, she yells at anyone who doesn't call her Amy. Is that the same word as Eimi in Volume 3, 4 and 5? Because in those volumes, she doesn't insist on Amy. If they are the same word, which ones should be changed?

Yea! I noticed this too, if I recall correctly in one of the competition volumes (5 I think) she said to call her "Emmy"Rockmosis wrote:Got a question on Akechi Eimi's name. エイミエ is how the name is written which is a phonetic translation of some foreign nickname for Amelia so which is more likely Amy or Emmy is a matter of opinion until the format standards declare a winner.

Latest chapter (v12c15) uses yet another spelling of Tatsuya's fake name: Oguro Ryuga.
Volume 10 has a mix of "Maximilian Devices" and "Maximillian Devices".

It's strange, i thought his alias in the military was Oguro Ryuuya. Is it not?

Quick question, for Chiba Naotsugu (first name: 修次), shouldn't it be read as shuuji?

No. The official kana reading is Naotsugu.

In that case, did the author/animation team change the name for the anime?

Isn´t it just his nickname? It might be, that e is just called according to the other reading (I don´t really think they would just change a name of one of the side characters especially while dealing with so popular work).

Re: Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Names & Terminology
The text for volume 02 after translation has Mari stating "That's not true! Nao is..."
However in the anime, she states "そんなことはない。しゅうは…”
I just double checked the scans. Her line reads: ”そんあことはない!シュウは……”
Edit: Ah never mind, it looks like the Shuu used here is just an archaic term for dear or master depending on which kanji they would be going with I guess.

I already answered this question in the animation forum late April. Shu is a nickname based on the Kanji, the proper phonetic reading of the name in this case is Naotsugu.

Can someone enlighten me about the reason for the name change from "Suffocating Turbulence" to "Nitrogen Storm" in volume 12 chapter 14? I wasn't able to find any info about the change.

Good question. I have no idea. I guess after we reach a consensus we should add it to the Terminology page. Both are currently in use. I think the correct one is Public Morals Committee.

I guess that would make sense. The other way it sounds like the committee is public.
