This is a feedback thread for Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou.

I'm thinking about picking this up as a new project.

Yay! Another js06 project. This is actually one of the projects I specifically checked for when I first found this site. The anime was confusing as heck, but it made it look like it was based on a fairly complex setting. I like LN's with complex settings and mechanics, and those aspects tend to get lost or confusing in adaptations. Skimming though the comments in its TL plea thread, it seemed that those who could read it generally liked it.

Awesome! I've wanted to read the novel for this ever since I started reading the manga back before the anime came out. Thanks for picking this up!

I've yet to read what you have translated because I'm waiting for the volume, but since I like the manga and I liked the anime, the novels are a must.

Just wondering, how many volumes of it are there? I have been waiting for newer volumes of it (in Chinese), but it has been a really long while since its last release... How are things over at Japan's side?

There are currently 12 volumes with the most recent one released this past September.
According to Volume 12's afterword, the almost 2 year delay between Volumes 11 and 12 was due to the author being too sick to write or do anything else in his daily life for an entire year.

I loved the anime, and have enjoyed what's been translated of the manga, so i'd absolutely love to be able to read the novels.

Thank you very much. It was one of the novels I enjoyed quite a bit, and has been wondering if the author may have been caught in some of those nasty things(earthquakes etc) that happens these days. Glad to know hes fine and the series will proceed.
