I won't send it until I get back home, so feel free to add corrections if needed.
Hi,

I’m summing up the requests discussed about the Alternative Language Forum.

First, the moderation powers.

The main problem isn’t the lack of people, but rather the lack of powers to moderate it.

Most of them aren’t available there, unlike the Auxiliary Brigades sub-forum. That limits the efficiency to manage this sub-forum.

Unavailable powers:
- Deleting posts
- Lock topic
- Delete topic
- Move posts
- Moderation of guests’ messages
- Move topic
- “Sticky”, “Announcement” status
- Split topic
- Merge topic
- Copy topic

Then, the creation of new sections for languages.

I’ve been getting bad feedback from some of the new members, complaining about the difficulty to even register on BT (mainly because of the forum’s question) and to find answers to their questions.

Even if I’ve created a bunch of tutorials, they aren’t enough to help new members, lost in a wave of various threads of various languages. That’s a shame, as our alternative community is increasing in a steady pace, but with a lack of staff and supervisors to help them.

If we put all the sticky threads in the current sub-forum, it wouldn’t help either. That’s why creating these sections where people can speak their language would be better.

Besides, these sections need competent people to moderate them, and in the following list, I’ve selected those who can handle the task with their experience.

I also added sentences to show at the top of the page, saying that people can speak in English and in their language.

Heck! I was about to edit your mail in order to fix two-three details... '^^ Anyway, since it was only typo and grammar, I guess it's kind of irrelevant.

I think it may also be a good idea to grant the said moderator powers over not only the sub-sub-forums (like French/Spanish, etc.) but over the whole ALF sub-forum, including all its future sub-forum... At least to some persons (like Misogi). (I mean : it's cool to have a few supervisors for each sub-sub-forum, but it wouldn't hurt to have a handful of real moderators for the ALF forum in its whole) :)

Too bad Kira's title has been superseded by his additional membership.
Now we'll never know what comes at 16000 posts!

May I petition for Kira's displayed title to show the one for "registered users"?

Oni, I've sent a mail, since I think that Lery should be in the Group leaders, Drakyo will only be fully active in summer.

Kira can switch his title from red to blue though. He needs to click on his own username, then choose the usergroup he wants to choose.

Forget the ALF, the main wiki itself is getting too messy...

Oni, I think you can promote zzhk and dreyakis to senior TL if you have the time. (And why is it that I can't resign from my 'senior project translator' post?)

I've tried to change my default group, but I don't see any option to set a new default group...

Sorry for the late response... was away for a week and things has escalated fairly quick I don't know if I could be of any help...
But I thought I should at least give off some presence here...

... and I give my vote to Arczyx' translation, "Anda dapat menggunakan bahasa Inggris maupun Indonesia."...

Nope, you just have to make sure in Group permissions that the user has permission to change its default group...
(You've got to be admin to do so.)
Go to: Permissions > Groups' permission > Look up usergroup: Fringe Security > Advanced Permissions > Profile tab > Set Can change default usergroup to Yes

Now, we just need an admin to make that modification :)

PS : the button to change our default group should then appear in the lower left hand corner of the "Usergroups" page in your User Control Panel. You can't see it until you got the right to change it.

PPS : the resync will resync the numbers displayed with the actual amount of topics and posts actually in that forum so the figures are correct in the database and are displayed correctly... Not of any actual use if you want my opinion ;)

According to Oni, he'll make the changes in two times. The first one was done, now we have to wait for the powers to be set.

That's fine. ^^
But I can't wait to get the right to change my default group : I just passed the 1600 posts, and I can't see my new rank now.
