Clean URLs

Is there any particular reason why Baka-Tsuki doesn't use mod_rewrite or anything that would serve a similar purpose? Just thought URLs would look clearer without the index.php?title= part.

Don't think that's it. TLG has been fiddling directly with the server now and then, so there shouldn't be anything that keeps him from creating an .htaccess file or something of the likes.

(My personal guess would be that no one has bothered until now *cough*)

It's not the big deal anyway

But if the host has mod_rewrite and you can edit your .htaccess its just a couple of lines..

No need for mod_rewrite or .httaccess- Mediawiki provides that functionality thru a setting variable.

I didn't set it because the gain doesn't outweigh the con (dead links everywhere that requires mod_rewrite). Most people enter a page thru hyperlink anyway.

Hm, I found that index.php?title= is also a easy way to create a new page besides using a hyperlink since its easy to understand how it works...
