I hope J.C Staff doesn't touch this.

so i was giving a copy of heavy object pdf to my friend who started to reading LN recently (thanks to denormative).
after a week, i ask him

me:"what do you think about heavy object?"
him:"eh, i havent read it"
me:(stunned)"but why? its a good LN"
him:"because the art isnt good enough"
me:"..."

anyway, afterword in vol6 mentioned a short story in magazine (about strategic antenna), did i miss something?

I'd just tell him to read v5. Female lead; art's more evocative; the story isn't related to any of the characters in the rest of the series; and it's the only volume which has a major male character in it that doesn't feel poorly written. (Yeah, Quenser and the guy who's name I can't remember still don't really feel fleshed out to me. :| )

I haven't seen it around the place, and it doesn't appear to have been translated. Maybe people who poke their nose around the Chinese LN sites will know more about it.

Hum sorry to post this here. I like the series and considered downloading the pdf files. But some of them don't work...
Just wanted to say this.

So, is this LN completed?

It is up to date. But there's no sign of the next volume yet.
We can expect one within a year though, but I base that purely on the author's usual writing speed.
Heavy Object is a sort of side-project for him though, I think.

What is his main project?

I would say "Toaru Majutsu no Index" as it is his longest (and first?) LN up to date if I'm not mistaken.

So Toaru no Majutsu no Index is not yet finished?

As far as I know not. And the author also has a second side project called "The Zashiki Warashi of Intellectual Village" which is also not finished yet and he made a oneshot volume called "The Circumstance of Waltraude's Marriage" in between the three series. Seriously...I can't even begin to imagine what kind of drive one must have to be able to steadily work like that without a burnout syndrome

Seriously, I wouldn't even be able to come up with so many different stories.....

I know what will happen in the next volume.

Quiser n his frnd will be posted at some xyz place. Some trouble with a new generation Heavy Object. Some problems with Princess. Quiser uses his brain n dismantles the Object. Saved the day.

Consistent story  :D :P
