really? I usually manage to read the japanese kanji by treating it as traditional chinese. so I guess that is an oversight on my part.

but well, trad chi still form the largest base of kanji.

And like, 恋 is the kanji~ 戀 is the traditional one. ^_^

Hmm, i think most japanes names uses the simplified kanji.

equivalent to Scottish English, spelt completly different, which you can just about guess what that word meant if you just looked at it yet elusive, unless spoken out loud.

don't even need to put on a Scottish accent, its included for free.

well, there's some kanji that's not from either traditional or simplified.

Didn't kanji develop separately from the Chinese script anyways, like 500-1000 years ago? So sometimes you see some kanji that's quite antique, that not used by either simplified or traditional

dragon 龙 - simplified
dragon 龍 -traditional
dragon 竜 - kanji
