'''''Another''''' (アナザー) is a novel by Yukito Ayatsuji, a mainstream author in Japan who is specialized mystery and horror. The story is originally a magazine serialization that dates back to 2006. As a compilation of all serialized chapters, a hard-cover version of the novel was published in 2009. A paperback version was also released in 2011.

The novel is ranked 4th in the "Bunshun Mystery Best Ten 2009" ranking and 3rd in the "This Mystery Novel is Great! 2010" ranking.

It was released as an e-book in two volumes in March and July of 2013.

==Story Synopsis==
The novel centers around a school class that has a curse, and the string of unavoidable deaths that befall the boys and girls in that class.

26 years ago, in a third-year classroom of a middle school, there was a student named Misaki. As an honors student who was also good at sports, the student was popular in the class. When Misaki suddenly died, everyone in the class decided to carry on as if Misaki was still alive until graduation. Then, in the spring of 1998, a boy named Kōichi Sakakibara transfers to that classroom, and he grows suspicious of the fearful atmosphere in that classroom.
