Double 7 is in Dengeki Bunko or whatever that magazine is. So far, the first 2 segments (I guess chapters 0-6) have been released, and it is 2nd year as you say. It's an unedited portion and "spoiler free," so it's more akin to the web novels. Awesome job Dreyakis, its getting exciting with each chapter release. however, in my personal opinion, i'm not that hyped about the story spanning over two volumes. Indeed. It's difficult not to appreciate just how fast and capable both Drey and zzhk are. Even given a masterful command of both English and Chinese, there's a lot of cross-referencing that has to happen when you're not translating straight from the Japanese text. The fact that they're both efficient ''and'' consistent is just staggering. <br />

I think you should add Js06 to the list of one man army translators as well. Sure, he takes longer when translating other LNs, but when a new To Aru Majutsu no Index volume comes out, he can finish the LN in about a week or so with daily updates. The destructive gales pinned down the giant monkeys, immobilizing them." -> Is it Godou or is it Ena that is doing that? Hi there. While editing I am having some confusion regarding what to keep in caps and all. For example: "king", "lord", "god", "cult lord" and such. I believe that since all of them represents some position in this world's society they should be in caps. Just as same to ours "President/Prime Minister/Minister" and such. They should be in lower case when used as a noun, capitalized when used as a term of address. Lord and God are only capitalized for God from the Bible, so there is no need to capitalize phrases like "my lord" or "abc is a god" though "Lord XYZ" would need to be capitalized since it's a term of address. Similarly, king should only be capitalized when it is a specific title, such as "King Kusanagi." Stuff like "as a king you should blah blah blah..." or "the king jumped up and down" should not be capitalized. It does get a bit subtle with statements like "George V is one of the kings of Britain" where "kings" is being used as a general noun, versus "George V is King of Britain" where "King of Britain" is a specific title. After all, there is no such formatting in the original text, and certain lines can be interpreted as either thoughts or third person narration because there is no explicit subject. Where does that phrase occur? In that particular case, it could be simplified to "power of spirit body separation" without much loss in meaning. "Spirit body" and its separation and detachment already appeared in Volume 6 with Princess Alice's introduction. I make my ePUBs manually; the use of <nowiki><b></nowiki> rather than triple apostrophes makes it easier (for me, and maybe others) to convert the text into html/xhtml. The same would be true of double apostrophes and the <nowiki><i></nowiki> tag. I've made the mistake of equating double apostrophes with quotation marks (and then replacing all of them). I have a question about line 65 in volume 5 chapter 2. There is a line break between two sentences that appears to be spoken by the same character, and there is no quotation marks around the second "part." I just want to let you know, Dreyakis, I highly enjoy your translation. I've spent quite a bit of time as an editor for various fan translation groups (never for light novels though) and even those projects could cause a man's brain to explode. Translation is hard work and you are doing the best job I have seen on Baka-Tsuki. It is a pleasure to read your translated text, doubly so because the novels themselves are excellent. The novels have an addictive neutrality to them, and I am very happy that you are translating them for an entirely new section of the world to enjoy. ~BakaGrappler

First time commenting on bakaupdates, so not sure if this is the correct way, but THANK YOU SO MUCH for your work! I absolutely love this series. I've reread it 5x now eagerly waiting for my next hit of ecstasy! I actually created a log in just to voice my utmost gratitude to you and all the hard workers that work on the Mahouka series! I truly hope this series becomes an anime, but at the same time I know it'll never be as glorious as the LN! You work so quickly and your translations are top notch! Hello I am new to Baka-Tsuki and I have a couple questions that you can help me with. (Sorry if this is in the wrong place to put it, but I am new and I don't know anywhere else to put it.)

I want to help with translating novels on this wiki, but at the registration page of a project it just shows the chapters and the translators who translated it and I can't find anything that could help me. And if I do register to translate a chapter where can I find or get a raw version of the chapter to translate or do they provide you with one. Currently now I am in my third year of Japanese at a highschool standard and I am wondering if this enough to actually start translating chapters. I can understand Japanese sentence structure/grammar, hiragana, katakana like only 20 kanjis. Thank you in advance for answering. :) - TheWierdSaying

Larenthian is the project leader for Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, so I don't have the final say on who does what. (Larenthian is on vacation until next year, but may poke in from time to time.) If you are interested in joining the project, go ahead and check in on the Feedback thread that is linked on the main Mahouka page. The Registration link is only to let the translators know who is doing what. Unfortunately, you will have to hunt down a copy of the RAWs yourself, as we don't have a handy supply cache anywhere (not that I know of). Dreyakis, out of curiosity, how do you manage to crank through these translations so quickly? I'm curious how you get so much done so quickly; never mind the quality which I have absolutely no complaints about. Generally speaking, my productivity is around 10 pages per day since I'm translating Chinese to English, with appropriate increases in output on my days off (Wednesdays and Saturdays). It's not hard to make an estimate after that. I'm out in California, so the time stamp on B-T is two hours ahead of local time. I don't think that was the end. If you've read chapter 5, you'll notice Sakura and Godou conversing about visiting Fuyuhime and about giving her a letter. I think there's more scenes after this. Maybe Kadi is up to his old tricks again. He did admit that he is evil in this regard :). - Cataccountant
