Urgh, sorry, as Larethian says I don't check this page much ^^; will try to come back more often.
Um I don't know Spanish?.. if you're referring to the English TL tho, I've done the prologue of vol.9 and am currently *slooowly* going through chapter 1. If it wasn't for the text ver I'd be going even slower. As it is, this may take a while. The writing style is... unique. (and painful.) (emphasis on painful.)

Oh there is no rush, I just asked so I know what I will be traslating next on the SnS spanish version myselft from the English TL.

He wasn't updating because he wasn't done, not because he thought people didn't care about updates. I think he just posted it because people kept bugging him. I reccommend you should place a note on the Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei main page telling readers you don't want your translations changed to american spelling because people will keep changing the spelling because it is stated in the guideline that the default english is american [[Special:Contributions/58.7.66.191|58.7.66.191]] 04:16, 28 October 2012 (CDT)

Don't harass the man about the translation. Not that it will even get to him in time. I believe Seitsuki has been away from a computer for a while. Also, regarding the American v British English, I don't think he should even need a note. Editors seem to take too much liberty with the writing and go beyond fixing spelling/grammatical errors. Mind you, one of the major differences between the two forms is spelling, it's still an issue on the editors' part, since many of them don't know the British spellings, and most of them don't notice that the same "spelling errors" are done in the same way again and again. are the missing chapters in volume 5 going to get translated or is volume 5 not related to the main plot ie can i skip it and read volume 6?

just a little curious about sashiko's use of "ani" when miyuki speaks in vol 8. i noticed the flashbacks after chapter 2 uses "my brother" and sashiko has changed "my aunt" into "okaa-sama" in the flashbacks does she refer to tatsuya differently or does she continue to use the same word after ch 2? honestly its kinda for cute compare to her normal "onii-sama" god its starting to annoy me (i'm sorry, i'm biased, i like mayumi and erika more) [[User:Keisanichi|Keisanichi]] ([[User talk:Keisanichi|talk]]) 23:46, 1 March 2013 (CST)

I've directly translated it because unlike 'Onii sama', 'Aniki' or any of those terms with certain connotations and implications regarding relationship/social position etc she's using it simply in the literal sense, that he's her brother. Well, from what I understood, the Asian Alliances actions weren't exactly official, but that's not the problem. And Japan sent their strategy-class magician there to pressure the Alliance. The problem (for the rest of the world) is the explosion itself, it obliterated the Alliance's fleet and a big base in one blast and killed its official strategy-class magician at the same time. The USNA figured it was caused by direct matter-to-energy conversion, and that is troubling. This happens when antimatter meets matter, and even 1 gram of antimatter is hard to make, but that was a 1kg explosion, so even if the antimatter mass is added to the matter mass, it's a lot of antimatter. But antimatter was not used here, it was magic. Transporting antimatter is a bit of a hazard, considering this world is 100% matter, and a transporter can be intercepted, magic can't. If Japan wanted, they could make a crater out of New York or Washington and the USNA would have no idea until it happened. So in order to better understand this explosion and how it reacts, they reactivated that 30km black hole sandwich maker, and it's hinted that it won't go that well for them. Also, the fact that Material Burst can destroy a war fleet in the blink of an eye means the rules of war have changed, no longer can the armies fight it on like in the old days, now magicians are the center pieces and maybe some assassins mixed in there. Finding out who the hell can nuke an army like that at his will is also important and it drives the story forward, let's not forget we are talking about high school, international politics are a bit over that. That's about it as far as I can tell, I hope I answered your questions and not angered Dreyakis in the process. :"Scorching" is how the various other translations have it, though I personally leaned towards "Burning". I'm currently going with "Scorching", though.

Chapter 12 was awesome. BTW, Mahesvara(Maheshvara) is an alternate name for Lord Shiva, the Hindu God of destruction and one of the Hindu trinity consisting of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Maybe useful to add as a footnote.
