Hey guys, I think Vol. 8 is already out long before. . but it was not posted here. . I once found it on google and downloaded it. . it was on my USB though (it's stolen now, lucky prick.) and I think the volume was Legitimate as it contained more revelations about Chifuyu and Tabane's relationship with each other. . so, for me, this chapter is legit and it's not some 1/4/13 joke. .

In any case, this is my understanding of Vol 8. The rumours were about Vol 8 being finished and rejected by the publisher. I have no idea how true the rumour is, nor do I know if there was a leaked copy somewhere (I doubt it). The 25 April date however, was corroborated by this link, http://www.scifijapan.com/articles/2013/01/03/infinite-stratos-reboot-kicks-off-with-all-night-festival/ , which seems legit. So, chances are what you read was fan fiction, since by most accounts, it never got printed.

Also, the text screams satire to me, hence my conclusion, (Well-Played) April Fool's Joke :D - Anon A

Yes, thank you very much! I was thinking Teh Ping had his panties in a bunch or-I guess, personal things he needed to do. He said that it was, "this volume is really that bad." In my opinion, nothing that has been written is bad at all; however, I cannot read another language yet. I am very happy, very happy that someone is trying to translate volume 8. Well, I did release a few parts here and there, on animesuki, facebook, jcafe...but I am relieved to see someone else actually do this volume me because I can focus on other projects. I'm still busy with exams and stuff, so it's up to you for now, Sana. While I don't let my opinion of a volume stop me from translating, I did mention to Stark from RapidSwitch back in December 2012 that I'll only work on this volume fully once I finish Unicorn (...another 1140 pages left to go...). My estimate is that it'll last till August, so please try to hang on (or if you can, complete the volume). Realizing the potential, Ichika is forced by the Japanese government to attend the prestigious Infinite Stratos Academy, an international academy where IS pilots from all over the world are trained. Thus his busy school life surrounded by girls begins.

To re-iterate the registration procedure:

*You are required to register which chapters you wish to work on. One portion of text per translator, please.

*Registration is on a "First Come, First Served" basis. Please register your intended chapters on the project's registration page.

*Maximum number of translators per volume is two, unless the volume is a collection of smaller stories. Another way to interpret this is no more than two translators should be working on the same "story arc".

*Translators may only register for portions of one volume at a time within each project. This is to prevent "biting off more than you can chew".

*The Registration page is not a binding contract, and translators are encouraged to negotiate between themselves which portions to register for.

*Anonymous Translated Contributions are required to inform [[User:Thelastguardian|thelastguardian]] and the designated Project Supervisor of the intend Chapters as shown on the corresponding Registration page before any major contribution.

*Portions that are not updated for a significant time may be taken over by another translator after getting permission from the Project Supervisor. The new translator is encouraged to start over to maintain consistency, but the old translation will not be deleted at least until the new translation is finished (and probably not for some time after that).
