	Yeah that would be safe. Stick to grammar and spelling. That's best for new editors here. :) Personally I don't like changing the script more than '''absolutely''' necessary. Since I don't have the raws or can '''read''' japanese. And I don't like messing with the translator's script more than necessary. If I did that I may end up making the sentence mean something completely different. Translation is complex and often can't be done 100% (Hence the use of ref notes to explain). On the other hand, I'm okay with '''verbal''' japanese. So I sometimes help out if the translators give me pieces of original j-text. I can run ~~then~~ through a romanjifier and use japanese dictionary translation tools to help out. My English is A+ though, both verbal and written.
