Sakaki Guryū is a multi-talented genius who, despite being gifted and wealthy, decides to teach in the countryside to be together with his lover, Usagawa Rinne, who also happens to be his student. Their peaceful lives are shattered one day when Rinne is killed, in front of Sakaki's eyes, by a girl named "Gankyū Eguriko", who gouged her eyes out with a spoon. Things take an even stranger turn when Rinne suddenly wakes up as if nothing had happened, and something called an "Eden's Apple" is thrown into the mix.
Mushi to Medama won the award for the "Best Newcomer" category in the MF Literary Awards.
Update: Volume 3 End is up and the volume is virtually done. Here we have our first glimpse at the last of the seven Greater Fragment, and I will say (bias intended) that from what I've seen from Volume 4, I really like Single Room. "Welcome to my room." Single Room and Poison will be the protagonists in the next volume and I am very happy to finally explore they story, bringing the mysterious story around the Greater Fragments towards their climax. I'll finish the short Author's Notes asap. At this rate, I am going to be away during Christmas, so the first chapter of Volume 4 is likely to be finished around the first week of January 2015. PS. I know, it's the same old question but - does anyone have, or knows where to get, images for the novels? I don't know if the manga is too popular or something but I just can't find images from the original novels. Please gimme a PM on the forums or leave a comment on the talk page if you have any info on that. I'm currently looking for Volume 3 images but would really like a reliable source for the images for the next three volumes too, so I don't need to ask every time I move on to a new volume... - Brynhilde (talk) 22:37, 19 November 2014 (CST)
PSS. I've found some illustrations from Chinese websites for the novels since then, and I will keep hunting whatever is missing. By the way, I change the hover text (the whole Catastrophe/Poison thingy) in Vol3 End to Furigana (the Japanese way of writing smaller characters above kanji) to represent the proper nouns with 2 different names. What do you think? If you can, lemme know if you prefer the hover text before or the furigana. Personally I was starting to get annoyed at the hover text - I had to move my mouse when reading to see what was hidden text. If people like it, I'll slowly change all the hover text in previous chapters to furigana, since it'd be a quality-of-life improvement for me too - Brynhilde (talk) 20:12, 20 November 2014 (CST)
