Randomness[edit]

Thanks for all your hard work Jn. Its sad that 'solitary' was taken down. All the LNs there were among my favorites. I wanted to ask you a couple of things. 1. I see that you have password protected all DanMachi files, and that`s good. But how can I get that password? What do I have to do or where do I have to go to get it? 2. Are you going to continue Magika? I really loved that one and would like to read more of it. 3. When do you think we will be able to see another one of your translations? Keep it up! "Joegargery (talk) 15:47, 3 February 2014 (CST)"

You've been really active lately, so I want to thank you for all the work you've been doing. :3 --Cloudii (talk) 23:56, 19 February 2014 (CST)

Wow. Those finals are held too close to the midterms. I wish you the best of lucks.--Kemm (talk) 17:27, 25 March 2014 (CDT)

Thanks for the translations. you've done quite alot in the past 4 months =). Now that DanMachi licensed I'm curious to what you'll work on after finals if you decide to continue translating.

Hello, I really appreciate the translation you do! If you need any help, I'll be happy to help. -SBC (I don't have a baka-tsuki account)

Hagure Yuusha no Esthetica[edit]

If I remember correctly the summary on baka-Tsuki's blog, while the father is the leader of 'Scarlet Dusk', the one who is a prominent COCOON member is Akatsuki's older brother. Then, the message the president had to convey should have been somethink on the like of "I will definitely stop you, and stop father".--Kemm (talk) 10:12, 29 January 2014 (CST)

Hmmm... that actually makes more sense to me. There wasn't an "and" in the Chinese raws that I had, so I naturally assumed there wasn't one, though it did confuse me. Thanks for the tip, I'll fix it when I post it up here Jn19930 (talk) 16:02, 29 January 2014 (CST)

Will you keep translating this series after midterms are over? And thanks for doing the first volume. Oddmoonlight (talk) 14:08, 2 February 2014 (CST)

I haven't decided yet. If enough people ask me for it, I'll work on another Volume first. But I won't be able to work on it for a few weeks at least.Jn19930 (talk) 22:42, 2 February 2014 (CST)

Please continue! I really like this LN and you do a great job translating it. I wish that you'll do it =) Hannryou (talk) 17:02, 7 February 2014 (CST)

I'll be busy the coming week too, but then I have a one week break. So I'll do a chapter this weekend, though I haven't decide which volume I should translate.Jn19930 (talk) 22:21, 7 February 2014 (CST)

was wondering which light novels are covered in the anime? is it just 1 and 2? or is volume 3 covered as well? ~Andrew 20 February 2014

I'm assuming you meant to ask about Hagure Yuusha. The anime covers Vol.1-3 and a bit of Vol.4. That is the main reason why I skipped 2 and 3 and went to Vol.4.Jn19930 (talk) 16:21, 20 February 2014 (CST)

Thanks for answering my last Question so fast, i do appreciate it (and the fact that you are translating the Light Novel too). followup and last question i have for you: How many of the Light Novel volumes do you plan to translate (Hagure Yuusha)? ~Andrew

For now, I only have plans to finish Vol. 4. Then I'll be going over to DanMachi Vol 1. I'll probably come back and do Vol 5 as well just because Vol 4 + Vol 5 is the Alayzard Arc and I'm not the type to leave things unfinished.: Jn19930 (talk) 18:54, 20 February 2014 (CST)

Do you any intention of finishing the series? MrWii000 (talk) 23:42, 22 October 2016 (CEST)

Please finish the series although it’s been years this novel is so good and thank you for previous TL Royalltys (talk) 4:05, 17 March 2024

DanMachi[edit]

Why change シル・フローヴァ [Syr* Frova] to Seal Flover? Seal is written in katakana as シール, so it is a completely wrong romanization... SinsI (talk) 17:52, 14 March 2014 (CDT)

I know that. If you look carefully at the terminology page, I did show the proper romanization in brackets. It is just because I feel awkward when I'm translating with those terms just like how Aizu -> Ais for a while, which I changed back. But for now, I'm sticking with Seal, at least until another translator shows up and discuss this matter with me. Jn19930 (talk) 21:09, 14 March 2014 (CDT)
Wouldn't Sill Frova be better? Those are actual first/second names that, according to Wikipedia, romanize into シル and フローヴァ .SinsI (talk) 02:59, 15 March 2014 (CDT)
According to dammitt, Syr Frova was confirmed by images on the Vol 3 Booklet that came with the limited edition version of Vol. 3. I don't have it so I can't confirm that. Jn19930 (talk) 15:22, 15 March 2014 (CDT)
And tbh the author seems to play around the names a bit, like changing the name slightly making it difficult to find the name we are looking for. So I wouldn't exactly bother with the naming issue, at least until another translator comes in Jn19930 (talk) 20:41, 15 March 2014 (CDT)

Thank you for the translation you have done up till now and best of luck for your exams, kinda ask a question will you translate all volumes of DanMachi....because I can't read Japanese and I want to read this....Oh by the way when are your final ending?

I'll probably translate all the volumes of DanMachi as long as there is a Chinese TL for it (It's currently up to Volume 4. Someone is doing the Side-Story about Aizu Wallenstein which isn't completed yet). About my finals, it's ending on Apr 30th, but I have a two weeks break now, which I'll attempt on finish Chapter 5 and start on Chapter 6. I just finished 3 finals in 4 days yesterday so I don't exactly know when I'll start working. Jn19930 (talk) 20:04, 18 April 2014 (CDT)

At the moment I don't have access to a computer other than a tablet (can't make an account past the cats), but I would be willing to help with this. I don't know Japanese, but I've got a solid 6 years of Mandarin and I'm a native English/Greek speaker. Many of the sentences translate with awkward grammar, and I was wondering if you would be willing to look at some of my suggested edits. I couldn't find the Mandarin TL, however. A link to that would help, so I could try to inform my edits at least one level back. I should be back in front of a real computer on Monday. Thanks for the work so far, ~Volos.

The project is licensed. No work will be allowed in Baka-Tsuki and will be deleted eventually.Jn19930 (talk) 17:18, 3 May 2014 (CDT)

Hello! Hello~~ Umm... I've actually noticed some very basic mistakes in the editing from the DanMachi series, but I'm not pointing that out to insult your work. The editing errors actually very simple; nonparallel(problem between time tenses [past, present and future]) sentences [and there are a lot of these], that makes it feel a little awkward to read. There's also an additional problem with English grammar, a lot of commas are put in unnecessary situations; for example putting a comma before 'that' makes the reading less fluid. You can fix it on your own terms but I'd actually like to offer my own editing help since my current project(OreShura) is a little inactive at the moment. Just use my talk page if you're interested. I'll probably read the novels before I help out if you accept my offer. OhHaiThar (talk)
