Translation[edit]

Could you please translate 異空間 for me? - YoakeNoHikari 02:24, 25 December 2011 (CST)

It's a proper noun. It refers to a specific space, I think. - YoakeNoHikari 00:59, 26 December 2011 (CST)

I hadn't really looked at it before, but you did a really awesome job on the preface of Horizon. I hope it didn't take you too long to do it, after all, you've your own project to do too : ) - YoakeNoHikari 05:18, 2 January 2012 (CST)

Oh...That's a shame, I thought you made some really good corrections : ( - YoakeNoHikari 03:43, 3 January 2012 (CST)

The reason it's different dimensions there, is because you changed it from Differing Space. Different dimensions seems to imply that the Harmonic States is in another dimension of existence, which it isn't, it's just floating up there in the heavens, named ikuukan. - YoakeNoHikari 02:04, 10 January 2012 (CST)

Hello ^^

Hey, could you take a look at the Shana Volume 1 summary?

SkyFlames07 02:03, 24 May 2011 (UCT)

I will eventually get to it some day in the future. How long in the future that will be I cannot say. Maybe by then someone else would have taken a look at it already.

Don't worry, your summaries are quite understandable. There may be typos or slightly inaccurate uses of words here and there, but they do not affect the meaning that you are trying to convey. Regarding the structure of the summaries, I personally am horrible at summarizing things, that I found out in school, so it'd be best if you don't rely on me for that part ^^ jonathanasdf 02:33, 24 May 2011 (UCT)

Hey Jonathanasdf. Feel free to just edit as recklessly as you please, I have all the pages on my watchlist, so I immediately check any changes anyone makes. Most of the time I don't change anything back unless I feel really strongly about it, as I do make a fair amount of errors. I looked over the prologue discussion page (sweet Jesus that is a lot of hooplah over just one prologue) and I just wanted say some stuff about a few of your concerns. The Celtic Magic minors thing was a grievous mistranslation on my part. What confused me was the fact that minor was in katakana. Thanks for the correction. Also, about Honami's Kansai dialect thing, what I try to do to show that is make her more relaxed in her speaking style, like lots of contractions, shortcuts when speaking, etc. I don't think it's necessary to add a footnote alerting the reader to Honami's speech as I doubt anyone who doesn't know Japanese cares. Sorry about the "eh" thing. I had no idea it was specifically Canadian, I guess I just hear it more often since I live in Detroit? Also, your interpretation of the "If I didn't ask, I would still be a etc etc" line is better than mine, I think. Mine is a little confusing to read. Finally, I think Honami confirming her own equipment makes more sense too after reading your argument. Anyways thanks a bunch for helping to edit, it's always more fun when more people participate.--Amazing Buffalo 20:46, 4 June 2011 (UCT)

Date A Live[edit]

Hey, thank you very, very much for translating Date A Live. It's a very great story! But I saw that the latest update is from 26-Mar-2012 - do you still actively translate the novel? --MK13 12:19, 3 May 2012 (CDT)

mind if i play with vol 2? i'll do the prolouge since i managed to get a copy of it.....(Y/N)? --RikiNutcase

whooo nice it'd be awesome if you can. In fact if you want to continue where I left off with ch. 4 that's good too, but up to you. --jonathanasdf 01:22, 20 June 2012 (CDT)

errr, i dont have the full book and im not that good, so ill just play around with the easy one's first.....a chapter is a killer lol --RikiNutcase

Ok then, tell me whenever you want me to take over (though I'm still out of commission for a while) --jonathanasdf 02:01, 20 June 2012 (CDT)

hmmm i guess you can just stick to completin your chapter's i'll mainly be focusing on mine.....i'll manage somehow. --RikiNutcase 07:22, 20 June 2012 (CDT)RikiNutcase

mind if i ask to translate 調理験習=??? i think its home economics but not confident.....--RikiNutcase 23:38, 21 June 2012 (CDT)RikiNutcase

Home Ec seems to be a good translation, either that or cooking class. I'm not too sure about the Japanese school system, eg whether the class is cooking all year long or if it's more like home ec in america. I don't think it really matters though ^^ --jonathanasdf 00:24, 22 June 2012 (CDT)

oh really.....soo er thanks for your time ill be doing this for ahwhile....*evil smile* oh yea....is it already to add the word "F!@#$k" in the translations cuz im really pondering whether to put that in......--RikiNutcase 07:07, 22 June 2012 (CDT)RikiNutcase

Here to pay my greetings to senpai here, here's some virtual soba! I'll be translating Kurumi Killer. I'll be in your guidiance!!......--Rozenbach 08:35, 16 October 2012 (CDT)

Hey hey senpai, are you still translating chapter 4? Rozenbach (talk) 06:10, 25 November 2012 (CST)

Ahh no no, just wondering, cos some fans were wondering what's taking chapter 4 so long. Is there some trouble or was I just annoying you with that question? *fidgets uncomfortably* Rozenbach (talk) 17:37, 25 November 2012 (CST)

For Tohka's pronunciation of Shidou's name, should I follow the terminology page and use "shidou". I asked Riki and he said use that. Is it OK for me to edit all of Tohka's pronunciation of Shidou's name as "shidou".

Yes go do that. --jonathanasdf (talk) 10:13, 7 December 2012 (CST)

Ryuu to Aitsu to Kawaige no Nai Watashi[edit]

Excuse me. Isn't there supposed a link to the forum about feedback? Thank you very much for the teaser. Since some part of it already translated, doesn't this project can be upgraded from Future Project Suggestions into Teaser project already? Thank you again.--Mada (talk) 07:36, 3 September 2013 (CDT)

I'll ask Darko for the link. It is in Teaser Projects (Check the category). To upgrade to normal project a full translated chapter is needed. Sorry I'm so slow, League of Legends eating up too much time ^^ --jonathanasdf (talk) 13:48, 8 September 2013 (CDT)

Well, no need to hurry and why apologize? It is not like I wronged you. It is just...hmm, a kind of sad since it seems that it was hidden. Perhaps there is someone out there hoping to find this, like me perhaps? I don't know whether not many people like this one very much or they just simply have read it already. Just for info, I just self-learning nihongo and have just began self-learned the grammar and structure of nihongo that used in JLPT N4, and that is enough reason for me to be really glad that you took this project. Thank you very much and sorry for have just replied it because I forgotten about my own question.--Mada (talk) 09:11, 16 September 2013 (CDT)

I'm just type of person I guess :) Anyways, the forum thread has been put up and is here: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=6053&p=205124 I'm definitely going to eventually finish translating this project. Just finished reading vol 4 last week and still want to keep reading. --jonathanasdf (talk) 01:33, 17 September 2013 (CDT)

White Album 2[edit]

Really? Well I had translated some of the script that hadn't been translated according to wiki... but I guess now I'll take the script from here and copy my translation to the script...

Well I'm hoping that we can finish this before the anime ends (*laugh)

thx for the announce ^^ --Zleonil (talk) 22:00, 8 October 2013 (CDT)

Well, leave the translating to me lol, just need the other things though and an editor would make the progress faster lol --Zleonil (talk) 02:29, 9 October 2013 (CDT)

Jonathanasdf, go check the link that you sent me in IRC again. It was disabled due to violation of ToS. And it will probably continue to do so. Once done, come again to IRC. If you are on discort, you should also be able to find me there. Look for useless admins. Also it seems that "goo gl" shortener is blacklisted for now. I can unblock it for a moment, but as I said before ToS are being violated and google keeps removing that link. -- SysadmSimon

Fafnir[edit]

Hi Jonathan, thanks for bringing out an interesting story here. A small query regarding the same; shouldn't it be better to name the series in its Japanese form than English? Thanks --Chancs (talk) 05:07, 6 January 2014 (CST)

I personally think the English name is better, and there's plenty of projects given English names over Japanese ones (now that I look harder it seems to be all Js06 ones...) --jonathanasdf (talk) 09:26, 6 January 2014 (CST)

-blinks- Now that you have mentioned this, I am seeing quite some in English on my left. Anyway, looking forward to your work. Thanks again. :) --Chancs (talk) 23:39, 6 January 2014 (CST)

Hi, can I apply for the post of being an editor here? Because I have been a member of BT for a year now so I would like to give something back. This will be my first editing project here if you approved. I have close to nothing experience in editing but I have read a lot of novels that I have confidence in my English. --SanderLy (talk) 19:05, 16 January 2015 (CST)

Fafnir isn't really a project yet so if you want to edit it just go ahead. For the other projects, please contact the project supervisor directly if you want to be an editor. --jonathanasdf (talk) 19:13, 16 January 2015 (CST)

Ok thanks, but if Fafnir becomes a project count me in as a project editor. --SanderLy (talk) 08:08, 17 January 2015 (CST)
