the hard parts for me were "どうにでもなる" and "なんたって" -- I ended up googling for examples, since alc failed me. (a tip: try searching for the romaji of the word as well; you sometimes get lucky and get a nice English explanation of the term.)

For "dou ni demo naru" it seems to be literally "become anything/any way" ... so basically an expression of confidence. So with that in mind, translation attempt goes like this, with things fairly literal:

"Really. But dependent on practice, anything can be done! After all, we have a year's time!"

Anyway, that's my not-so-confident interpretation, for what it's worth.

So it's short for "何と言ったって"; the example sentence seems to be unrelated -- "Youth cannot be beaten"? Anyway, alc corrobrates the "after all" sense when searching for "何と言ったって"
