Higurashi no Naku Koro ni light novels

Post by O_o »

There are three light novels, along with another short that someone else is already translating. All of them were written by the original creator of the games, and with the exception of Nekogoroshi-hen, are only available as light novels. (And yes, I have the Japanese RAWs and they're not licensed anywhere outside Japan.)

Nekogoroshi-hen - already released as an OVA; less than 60 pages with text; features a picture of Rena, Mion, Satoko, and Rika changing
Kuradashi-hen - "a compilation of the ideas and stories that Ryukishi07 couldn't incorporate into the game"; less than 100 pages with text
Hajisarashi-hen - included with the PS2 game; less than 50 pages with text; looks to be a beach trip (and includes a picture of Takano in a bikini)

Kuradashi-hen looks the most interesting to me, especially because it looks like it includes:

-Sub ? It's a novel. No subtitle.
-He said it's not licenced.
-Voting yes.

The first season of the anime is licensed in the US and France, and the manga is licensed in Taiwan and Hong Kong. That's all the Higurashi stuff licensed anywhere.

I think I would prefer if someone translated the game instead of the novels ^^

Hmm... I never even thought of the game...

Maybe if they don't animate Saikoroshi-hen, we could find someone to translate at least that (as it seems to explain quite a bit of about a certain mysterious character, which may or may not also be important to Umineko no Naku Koro ni).

While translating these novels is a novel idea, it is hard to find the source material, at from what I hear. They only came out with a very limited amount of the novels for fans who bought certain products.

The RAWs are easy to find for the light novels

Really? I am rather surprised. I actually tried searching online with nothing to show for results.

And I already said I had all the RAWs. I'm looking at them on my computer right now.

all you need now is to provide licencing evidence, registered translator and Admin approval.
