I too would greatly like to see this translated. I can't translate from Japanese, but I would be willing to edit if we found a willing translator.

Understood.

I have abandoned the project myself, so therefore:
I am hereby giving you (Baka-Tsuki) permission to use my current translation of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san in your work.

Good luck!

although this is cool that BT can now officially work on this, why are you leaving this again?

I am leaving because I decided to start translating the "Emanon Series" by Kajio Shinji (author), and I do not currently have the time to work on other projects.

So someone could start a BT project which includes your translation?

It's been long since any comment has been made on this project. It has a perfect approval rate (402/402 at the time of this post) and several translators and editors seemed interested. Is it going to bear fruit?

If someone was truly interesting and committed, translations would have been produced. The lack of such indicates that it probably isn't going to bear fruit.

Generally, the votes don't affect much. I don't think many of the translators or potential translators even notice it.

xD Most translators are swamped under their own projects. ;_; I actually enjoyed the anime for this series a lot, but the pun-level on this series is so high it'd be nightmare for me to translate through Chinese. DD: We need more translators to grow on trees. x3

@Cloud, I don't think it is just because of the puns only. In my POV you need to have quite a good knowledge about H.P.LOVECRAFT's work about the cthulhu/mythos whichi I think is a pain in the arse.

Well, Nyaruko is one of my favorite series. I can't translate from any language to English, but if someday someone decide to translate it, I'll sure translate from English to Portuguese.

The puns are all indicated at the back of the volumes in the official Chinese Translations. (I buy and read my volumes, so I know. Most references will be to Kamen Riders, while there are plenty other nonsensical ones).

P.S. Anime puns are different from the novel ones, so you can read it, then watch it, and still get twice the fun!

While background knowledge is definitely preferred, it is possible to do with less accurate translations... The references are not that important, so it really isn't that bad.

So, is there enough interest to see this series translated?

No, since it has been a long time and not a single translator has shown interest in it.

It's bad, because I like so much this series... well, I love comedy o/ and I would like to read Nyaruko, I liked so much the anime, I would like to read the novel too :D ...
