To counter the threat called 'mad spirits', people developed magic——Masou Academy is an university town that brings up people who master it, and the special strongest magical weapon Exmachina(furigana Spirit Machine).

The boy who desperately pursues power despite being unable to use magic — Kazuha left this land once already, and now he entered it once again. Thanks to a special ritual he is able to use a magical weapon, he does it all for the sake of his childhood friend, Kikyo. However, the weapon that was born for his sake for some reason took shape of a girl......?!

Kazuha saw a mad spirit for the first time when he was six years old.

——Mad spirits. They suddenly appeared around the world, monsters that became a threat to people.

Their appearance varies, they can take a shape of giant animals or even take shape of a dragon——what they all had in common was that they all were atrocious and brutal.

The mad spirits appeared out of nowhere, they were born in similar way the clouds appear in the sky and began to destroy.

Ruthless flames burned the buildings, and cruel gales cut through defenceless men.

The presence of mad spirits wasn't recognized by the world at that time, the threat appeared suddenly and people did not know what to do. Existence of things like magic and {{furigana|Mana|Spirit Children}} was still not known to public.

That's why Kazuha had no one he could ask for help, understanding he couldn't resist them anyhow, he just desperately ran away from the disaster that suddenly appeared.

——He squeezed his little sister's, Kusuha's hand.

"Hey, Onii-sama, what is that monster?! Where's mother?! Where's Father?!"

Kusuha was out of breath, and she shouted with tears in her eyes.

The evening sky was more red then usual and Kusuha's fair skin was dyed reddish.

"I don't know, let's run away for now! At this rate we'll be killed by them as well!"

Kazuha brought Kusuha and continued to run the asphalt road searching desperately for a safe place as the streets collapsed.

On the sides were burning buildings and intense smoke coming out of them, they ran neck in neck with other people who escaped in panic just like them

Run away, run away, run away——

"Kyaaa...!"

While in middle of doing that, Kusuha tripped over a stone.

The hands that connected the two separated, and she fell down towards the ground.

"Kusuha!"

Kazuha immediately looked up in a hurry and tried to pick Kusuha up.

However that's when a mad spirit shaped like a giant lizard clad in flames appeared while blowing away nearby buildings and opened its mouth to eat Kusuha.

"Onii-sama help——"

——Ever since then, he didn't regret his own powerlessness.

——He didn't curse his cowardice.

Kazuha tried to help Kusuha, but it was too late.

"...STOOOOOPPPPPPPPPP."

A futile scream sounded under crimson sky.


Since then, ten years, a month, and a day has passed.

This novel has currently 1 volume out in Japan, it was published very recently.

Right, I have no plans to TL it at the moment, it might or might not change in the future so any and all translators are welcome to pick it up. Difficulty wise it's a bit harder than the two other series I had pleasure to translate.
