REQUEST: Samurai Guard

Post by dark mage »

I would love it if Baka_Tsuki considered picking up this novel called -- "Samurai Guard", it looks very good and interesting, however, I cant find a plot summary as Baka Manga Updates dont provide any but I found the illustrations to be pretty well done. I hope this group will consider translating this. Here's more info ---
*censored*

Summary -- All I can say is it has something to do with Samurai's in the 21st century (Perhaps people with japanese knowledge can provide a better one)

What is that in the link anyways... It says english vols for Samurai Guard? Is that the manga or the novel?

And even if you don't have the synopsis for the novel, you can probably come up with one for the manga, they shouldnt be that different.

Lastly, i have never seen or heard of this novel, so I cannot help you out on that issue, sorry.

Hiwatari_d = someone who posts horrible English translation using the translation software ATLAS (even his Japanese raws in .txt are horrible).

jCafe! > Winny Club: a forum where people posts raws. To see the DL links (and spoilers) you need an account and at least one message.

In short, no news or information for the series... Anyone heard of it or can give some info? or else there is no way to go on at this.

(even though i believe even if there is more information, there isn't gonna be translators working on this one)

I haven't read the book, but...

Ah, it's Satsu Takega from Daiakuji!

From what I heard, the book is not bad. YMMV

yeah sorry its a novel and wasnt adapted into a manga. However, the story really is about more than "Moe/cute" girls as far as I could make out fom the crappy ATLAS translations. It has something to do how samurais were banned from wearing swords in public, but now in the modern era samurais are being called to duty again in a highschool, or something like that

Dont have the details, but reading what bits i know, it seems like people in a school fighting for the position of a general... People being females... And the school is a dormitory school school, stay in and all... Not too sure, not too interested either...

Tokikawa Kiyomi (his real name is Tokugawa Kiyomi) is of the Tokugawa lineage but was able to live a more or less normal high school student life since he was only in the 28th place in the line of succession to the shogunate.

But one day a samurai girl, Aioi Aika, suddenly appeared in front of him and told him that his rank suddenly became the 17th place.
She is here to protect him from assassins who will come after him now that his rank is less than 20.

So you are recommending a future project with no information at all...? We do not have translators to spare... So please only propose good/interesting stories that you do want to read, not stories you would like to try.

No I knew the information from illustrations and the ATLAS translations gave me a headache and the guy was only in one of the pictures in illustrations. So as I cant read japanese and from what I could read from the ATLAS translations it was quite clear to me that I would find it an interesting read if it was translated into english.

But there was no way for me to make sure if the guy was important to the story or not or indeed there was no way for me to make sure if the guy in question was a guy at all as Japanese names can be used for both males or females and hence I requested it as I am a fan of Baka Tsuki translations and was merely suggesting a new novel and hope you would pick it up if there were translators to spare. Again, I must say I did do my research as far as my limits would allow me to and I even put up a small summary on what I thought the story was about with my limited knowledge gleaned from Atlas, which should show how eager I m to read this in english and should show I didnt request it on a whim.

If it wasnt upto standards, then I apologise but I really did think, that people would enjoy this as I sure would love it, and dont only think that I will like it.

Thanks

P.S....Thanks alot for the summary Vaelis :)

So you couldnt create a readable and understandable version out of the ATLAS translation? ;) - Which could at least work as a teaser?
Please don't mind my bad english since I'm german.
