Four, this one is personal... I know of its manga, but didnt know theres a novel for it, even so, most of the time novel adaptation of mangas are bad, so unless its side stories or something, it probably isnt all that good?

Oooh! didn't know this was a light novel!

Compared to the ridiculously winding and never ending main series, at leased this one had an ending and a conclusion! Well it did in the 25ep (or was it 26?) anime! (Yay everyone WINS!)

Interesting, but would appriciate some information about the novels, how many are there? When were they written? Perhaps a little synopsis for those who are unfamiliar with the absolutely usless and argubly one of the most annoying founding character cast of our modern anime male stereotype? Even preceeding before Love Hina's pathetic excuse of a man...

What are you talking about? Tenchi is very strong(IIRC he has the potential to be the strongest male in the universe). The only reason for his uselessness is because there's no need for Tenchi, or in Japanese 天地無用(you get what I'm aiming for here right? ). But he's so bad-ass that his ending become one of the well-known stereotype in anime/manga/light novel/game world.

I liked the anime so i what to read the novel after read this but i don't read jap.

Anime Plot Summary: Seina is unlucky, so unlucky that when he stumbles upon a recruiter looking for his senpai Tenchi he gets taken instead. Forced into the Galaxy police, his luck begins to change. A natural to randomly jumping near pirates, he is assigned his own decoy to draw out pirates. His luck brings him into the lives of four women who have a habit of cancelling out his bad luck, turning it into good. Armed with this luck, they pilot the most powerful ships in the Tenchi Universe to defeat the Barta pirates. Now the only uncertainty is whether the sexy Kaunaq, a former model turned GXP officer, sturdy Kiriko, who has known Seina for years, the mysterious Ryoko, a former pirate named after the legendary one, or the childish Neiju, a powerful witch, will win Seina.

It's an entirely new cast. I think the main protagonist is a relative of Tenchi or something.

Not a relative. Just a very unlucky guy from the neighborhood of Tenchi (maybe a friend).
