Ok so I just thought through the last 3 episodes again, and although I do believe the pace is too slow - that it could be fit in 2.5 episodes - I agree with the choice of the production company to make it 3 episodes, because otherwise it's hard to make the episodes end at a good time. However, in order to make the episodes end at a good time it ended up making each episode seem to drag on. It might have been nice if they added some anime original scenes with light comedy or something instead of trying to stretch it to fill the whole 20 minutes. Like, in the middle of episode 4, before they are planning the whole operation thing, they could throw in a few minutes of the girls taking a break and having fun, like pulling out some karaoke or something, which will push the point that it's just a bunch of schoolgirls on a cruise-vacation further.

Maybe its just me, but I don't find that the episodes drag at all. In fact, I tend to get to the end and think "Its over already?"

Yeah, I've never really been good with slice-of-lifes and probably prefer a pacing faster than most people. When I do get to the end I do think "It's over already?", but I still find the middle to have dragged on.

Ep 6 however was perfectly paced imo.

They changed the title partway through the series IIRC

I saw the anime and Miniskirt space pirates strikes me as a delightfully hard sci-fi series with loads of fun comedy and character interaction that makes it deliciously enjoyable.
From the fun characters, the detailed setting to the question of where the story will go next I love it all~ X3

Though the way characters were more quickly introduced near the end of the anime version makes me suspect that there were some deceptivly subtle bits of condensed rush job to wrap up a story arc so discovering the sequence of events within the light novel version would be quite grand. ^^

Well, from what I have heard, episodes 19-26 are anime only, with a story line that the director came up with. Frankly, he did a good job, but I suspect that there is little resemblance in the books to those characters.

Some reference for someone who watching the anime and like to continue or deepen the story

Anime Episode 1-6 = Novel Volume 1
Anime Episode 7-13 = Novel Volume 2
Anime Episode 13-19 = Novel Volume 3
Anime Episode 20-26 doesn't have any correlation with the Light Novel

After read some review, it's quite interesting story at latest volume...

At Vol 4, it's story about distress signal which came from one of the Original Seven's Ship called Kurotori (黒鳥) and Odette II is to be repossessed due to unpaid tax by fraud Tax Officer
At Vol 5, It's story to find out the truth behind the distress signal, the Bentenmaru, Barbaroosa and Odette II head for the Garnet System
At Vol 6, It's story about saving Odette II and its crew who have ended up in the conflicted against frontier (Seven Star Federal Republic)
At Vol 7, It's story After training with the Fifth Imperial Fleet, Marika receives a request from the empire's intelligence unit to infiltrate the frontier pirate fortress, Skull Star. (Still uncertain but it seems Marika got invitation to become Imperial Pirate like her father)
At Vol 8, It's story about Marika who meet Bouty hunter named Noel Blue at Skull Star who chasing her bounty named Jackie Kelvin (The Scammer from Volume 4)

I don't know the truth yet but maybe (just maybe, i'm really uncertain) after the last act at Volume 8, Marika Promoted into Imperial Pirate like Her Father and continue her dream to sail around vast universe with her Crew and The novel ended...
Just my own conclusion...

@Zensunni
I'm at progress translating chapter 1 from Volume 1, i hope i can finished tomorrow so i can mail it to you.

Good idea starting teaser project for this, feel like taking time to wait for this one. Havent actually watch the anime, so i know nothing about the space school girl, pirate ships, and all the crew backgrounds. Hope someone take time to translate this one too.
