Lost Universe

Most know Hajime Kanzaka's other light novel series Slayers, but I have the first two Lost Universe light novels in raw Japanese. (Thank you Amazon Japan), who's on board to see Kanzaka's original story?

I wont get too far without help but I can read Katakana flawlessly which is important for the character names.

I will take a while, but will edit dialogue if it would sound weird in English. Working on synopsis from the first book right now as Kanzaka wrote it.

Okay, I got the text copied into a document for the inside cover for volume 1.
Since I am really new here, do I show the text in Japanese or do I try to make a logical translation instead? It seems each volume has their own title.
For those of us in the US, RightStuf has the anime version right now in case you need intended Katakana names, I already have them. Though I must note I saw scans somewhere of Canal's last name being spelled Vorfeed, yet in some dub versions, it is Volphied. (I do understand the L/R and PH/F mix ups)

Is there anybody interested in this, I've started watching the anime and it does have me intrigued. I have found a chinese translation of the first three novels on a site, I was thinking of trying my hand at it. It's even got the pictures from the Light Novel though does anyone know where I can find raws of the Japanese version of the novels?

I actually went ahead and started translating a bit of it.
Prologue
“Sorry, could you repeat that?”
Kane got up from the bar stool and took a fighting posture.
“Looks like this guy didn’t hear me.”
“Okay, then say it again.”
A contrived smile appeared on the guys face while the other’s moved in unison.
There was a total of four people, all of which looking for trouble.
One of them was taller than Kane, the guy was facing him was 1.8 meters tall.
They were in a small bar on a frontier world, located near a spaceport.
Kane usually wasn’t the type who would pick fights with punks in a bar.
He was that kind of guy.
“You said, a babyfaced guy shouldn’t drink such a watered down drink in front of adults. It's insulting!”
The guy who was the tallest said those exact words, he was currently looking down on Kane.
“And then, this guy had something to say?”
Kane looked over at another one of the guys —— the fattest of the four.
“This guy...”
A little man with a loud shrill voice spoke up.
“He dresses so strange, kinda like a woman, he’s definitely not straight ——”
Bang!
