Okay as I'm progressing with watching Clannad we are already into ep 18/19 of the series. if Clannad is going to stick to the 26 episode format we don't have long until it ends. This is good cuz this means:

1. Haruhi Season 2 will start
2. Haruhi volume 10 will be released soon after.

My prediction is that we will see Haruhi releases in mid March. Everyone start your countdown clock!

Because the anime hasn't even begun most of Nagisa's arc yet, they have 6 episodes left, and no space for the After Story, which is a crucial part of Clannad's plot.

Yeah, if they want to do Clannad justice, they'll need a second season.

(I wouldn't be surprised if they did Little Busters at SOME point, but not until Toei ruins it.)

Personally, I have been surprised how some series have been able to wrap things up in a short span and do the series justice. You never know; it might turn out that way for CLANNAD as well.

I really don't see them pulling an entire second season just for the After Story Arc. Most likely, they'll just trim it down. like they did with the Kyou and Tomoyo arcs.

My problem with this suggestion is that they usually give a fair amount of warning for releases of books, especially heavily-anticipated books like this one. I'm not saying it won't happen, but it's not very good business.

Of course, putting it off for close to a year in the first place probably wasn't the smartest thing either...

According to most people who've played the game, it cannot be done in 24 episodes. It can't. It's much, much too big. We're like only half done the story, and there is no possible way to pack the entire After Story as well as Nagisa's arc into 6 episodes.

If they hadn't shown the girl and the robot, as well as the other hints to After Story in the opening, I'd be sure there wouldn't be a second season, but...

It's not like I want to delay Haruhi for this, but Clannad is good and I want to see it done justice.
