I'd love to see a translation on those novels also. I owned like 9 books of the Chinese version [from book 9 to 17) and thought I'd be able to read them somehow. but stupid me, since I'm really not good in Chinese and even with the help of dictionaries and online dictionary, I can still barely read them [my first language is Indonesian and second-language is English. Nothing near Chinese or Japanese TT)
Dictionaries are not really a much help since all I can do is translating the words one by one, which will take forever for me to finish these books. Therefore, I really wish someone will be kind enough to translate these awesome novels >___________<

How far did you come? Have you translated more as we have as a teaser? - You could add it - even if it would be in bad english some eager editor will correct it eventually some day ;)

Lotsa people have commented on this teaser/series, wanting more... but I have one thing that I must say to defend myself...

THE TRANSLATION IS WHERE THE NOVEL BEGAN!!!

So yes, it is from volume 1, and yes, its the starting of the first chapter! So please stop framing me that I didn't do it right...

P.S. I did a lot of research work just for that short translation... Its really tedious... And I have yet to continue smoothly on KnS, which I really want to work upon, more than anything else... so this is currently off the list of novels I would translate, sorry about it.

GlassTier wrote:I think you should do this from volume 1. :D I want full story, not cut and abbreviated anime version. Lulz. But seriously, this is a series I would spend money on if any American company ever decided to translate it. I *need* to know what happens next.

i think you should translated from vol.1 too,, :D
ganbare~~
These two comments indicate that they believe I am cutting out from the anime... *weep*... but thats how the story started, even for the novel!! *cries*

It doesn't matter if you can't translate the chants [I know it's difficult. Many translators have given up on this just because of the chants]
I really really deeply wish you will continue on this novel. It's such a gorgeous story, really :D
One reason for the difficult translation is indeed the chants, however, its not everything there is. The other reason is because it talks about Japanese History, or rather, relevance to some parts of Japanese culture. Thus, with a lack of understanding for such ideas, cultures, systems(social), it would take quite some time to locate and translate the titles accurately and all. I took quite a bit of time just locating the place where he worked, and all the specialised terms, as seen from the wikis and all. It would be best to find someone who is either interested, or has knowledge of Japanese culture and their translated terms to do translations for this...

I am not sure that they have meant it like that. I would have thought, that they would like to read the story from the beginning and not from where the anime ends like it is for some other series...

Well, the anime, just like in the novels, both started with him and his partner in a job already... So it would seem like it started half-way through somewhere. But it will go back to recap mode later, so its very easy to mistake it that i started somewhere in the middle, or at least, i tot that they think i am doing that.

^ Haha, it wasn't too bad... The only problem is the translation of the mantras. Oh yeah, I've updated the teaser, so chapter 1 is already completely translated.

I know... When I made my teaser, I had a big headache searching for the mantras... And failed miserably...
