Collaboration Terms of Agreement & Procedure

Collaboration Terms of Agreement & Procedure
  • 2 - 3 translators will be assigned to each chapter. The translators will either be one from each group, if it can be spared, or one each from two of the groups (to be decided at the time of scheduling). The two translators will work together to create one translated script of which they are all satisfied with.
  • Each group will designate at least one editor to each chapter. any extra editors that can be spared for each chapter will be greatly appreciated. However, if any disagreement arises between the assigned editors and the extra editors, the decisions for the final changes ultimately lie with the assigned editors.
  • There will be a list on both the wiki, and the forums of who is assigned to work on each chapter. Each of the groups will have their members register for each chapter that they will be working on.
  • Editing will occur on Baka-Tsuki chiefly because of the convenience of the wiki. The URL for unreleased chapters will be relayed through the collaboration thread.
  • Discussions of edits and translations will chiefly take place in the discussion tab of the B-T wiki. IRC will also be used, but it is understood that some do no have access to, or prefer not to use IRC.
  • Real time discussion will take place in the IRC channel at #znt.
  • A tentative schedule will be periodically posted on the forums (most likely on a monthly basis). Prior to scheduling, and after discussing with each other, translators should either post on the forums, or contact whomever is in charge of the scheduling, and give a basic idea of the time that will be needed to translate.
  • Typesetting: *to be decided* - Ideally, we’ll be able to decide upon standards for font, spacing, etc. so that we’ll only need to have one release between the three groups, as well as the wiki version. Perhaps Kawool and Se-chan can alternate in typesetting once a standard have been decided upon.
  • As there should really only be one release file, once is done, it can be released immediately Ideally, the typesetter will be able to give a tentative release time at the time they receive the file. However, if this is not possible, then please visit either IRC or the forums and pm a few of the editors from Baka-Tsuki when making the release so that Baka-Tsuki may also put up the wiki file.
  • Any complaints, suggestions, or concerns either about these terms, or the collaboration in general, can be brought to me through PM, MSN, IRC, or e-mail.
These terms will also change periodically as new agreements are made, or old ones altered.
