I am not sure about manticore name, or if its the name to begin with and not some mythological description apart it being a manticore. Not that important I guess.

More important is that Karin seems to be a really strong mage, who would not pull back even if it meant killing her own daughter.

It literally means "mythical beast" or "legendary monster" or something ...

damn I wonder how i could have missed that - I was concinced it was a tittle or a name. Yeah it is a mythical beast when you read those two apart as a two words rather than one.

No way, I think her character is fine as it is. She's an adolescent suddenly thrust into a role much too big for her to handle. She's trying, but she relies heavily on emotional outlets. It's very believable in my opinion.

You have a good point and i also like her as she is, considering what she went through. Maybe in future volumes she will start to act more based on logic, but right now Luise needs a strong love rival like her. ^_^ At least until the main characters become a couple.

Well Karin is certainly not the most pleasant mother around.

Don't know if she would have actually killed Louise but she certainly looked like she could slice off a finger or two off Louise's hand for better emphasis.

Hopefully I can translate ch 4 sometime.

As you know there are some issues regarding licensed projects and it is likely for ZnT to be cut like Spice and Wolf and Haruhi were, so right now I am putting any further translations on hold untill we get the issue cleared up.

A small note - if you do not have ZnT and SnS copies saved on you computer you should better do it, in case the decision would be to put both projects down.

But both Haruhi and S&W are realeasing right now, but both Seven Seas and Viz stated that they have no plans to realize any further volumes, and I think Viz even went as far as allowing BT to continue to translate SnS from vol 3 onwards.
