Louise - Saito abuse ?

I just finished reading the first Volume in which Louise treated Saito worse then a slaves in old rome (worse even then a dog ... or who could starve or beat a puppy and feel justified about it ? ~_~).
Only thing that kept me reading was the whole setting and super power stuff which was pretty cool and I was in high spirits that Louise finally found her heart and would stop making life hard for Saito at the end of Volume 1.
But now moving to the second novel we see Louise beating Saito up right at the beginning of the novel to the point of him losing consciousness.
And I have to say, although Saito certainly invited her anger with his bold actions, the author went to far for me there.

Now my question is does Louises behaviour toward Saito improve in the next vew Volumes or does the author see it as some kind of running gag how she abuses him ?

To be blunt, the situation is the same from V1 to V20.

To be fair, since they're still together by that point I think it's safe to assume that Saito actually likes it.

Well, so far here's what it looks:

Relationship with the maid: -15%
Relationship with the queen: +60%
Relationship with the elf: +/- 0% in the first 19 volumes, and a boost of around 55% in the last volume
Relationship with the blue-haired girl: +/- 0%, since it is a one-sided love.
Relationship with the pink-haired tsundere (Louise, not Aria): Exactly 0% (it went up, down, up, down)

Spoiler! :
I don't know, the whole "I can't live without you, let's die together when the time comes" on the fountain with Louise at the beginning of Vol 18 seemed pretty definite about who he's going to end up with; if only because of the whole "Let's wait until marriage before making babies" that happened at the end.

Although to be honest I still think this series will have a bittersweet ending instead of a happy one; after all there's only so much talk about sacrifice and death you can write in 3 volumes before it seems completely plausible.

I'm maybe being unfair but in my opinion, I really liked this novel at first, till the volume's 10 final it was trudely good. But then it's just like a big deja vu, all the things happen once again. I mean, I know it is a freaking harem and none of the girls is giving up, I know Louise is a tsundere and won't be sweet till the end, but seriously, you can create new events and not just spin around the same things (I'm saying this without knowing which happens after the currently traslated volumes).

While Louise does treat Saito like crap a lot of times, it's not like Saito really does anything to avert said treatment. Hell look at the first volume, where he tries to molest Louise in her sleep. He also knows that Louise doesn't like it when he ogles other girls, yet he does so anyway. The guy is not very smart in my opinion.

That's sounds about right. Heck, maybe is even an unconscious thing, with his stupidity being the way he uses to get punishment and not admit to himself he actually wants it and likes it.
