What's up with Chapter 4?

Post by Haiyami »

Okay I read chapter 4 and the format is so much different than the first 3 chapters. No i don't mean differences as in between chinese-english and jap-english, I'm talking about the structure of the paragraphs. Everything seems so blunt and not very wordy. It threw me off a bit. What's teh deal wih chapter 4?

welcome to the unedited, format we had behind the Iron Curtain of the Collaboration.

We had to format the ZNT chapters like that, so that the other two groups who were both Manga & Anime subbing groups were familiar with.

You looking at a bit of history here,

see how primitive it was done when it was kept in the dark.

Oh well, i'll leave it up to the Editors to bring back up to the modern age. :)

Good luck! :P

It went just like the Soviet Union, one day it was fine, the next, Hello Russia.

Not that we were to blame, we were just innocent East Berlin. :P

Oh well, we'll just leave it to the good ol' Baka-Tsuki translators then :P

How rude. Are you saying I'm not as "Baka-Tsuki" as anyone else? ;P

But yeah, that format was what the now-dead leader of the now-dead group that we were collaborating with seemed to insist on -- so I made it my own, so to speak. Not that the format ever bothered me; just her and her attitude.

Anyway, feel free to change it as necessary. Just don't leave me out of the loop, since... y'know, it was what I was settling into. Don't flame me for it looking so horrible, m'kay? :s

Sorry Cala-kun. What I meant was we needn't rely on the other collaboration translators. You're every bit as Baka Tsuki as we are

Sorry if I offended you

Quoted and highlighted for emphasis. ;P

And we never actually 'relied' as such on the other translators (two, if I recall), who we never actually got to contact, and were always assumed kept under lock-and-key in the basement of the now-dead leader of that now-dead group.

I don't know; for what was supposed to be a combined contribution by all parties, it was quite the strain on everyone else thanks to that now-dead leader of the now-dead group (noticing a pattern yet?), and even if that person didn't happen to disappear due to RL issues, the facade of a collab we had wouldn't have lasted long at all.

So I'd say we do ZnT the Haruhi style - translate whenever we're free, and put up partially done translations. It's less stressful that way ;P

If the collaboration is dead why wasnt it announced on the page? All along i was thinking the collaboration was still active. Worse theres no indication on Kawaii Heaven's website that they dropped the project either(Infact i seem to remember sending a feedback form asking on status of the project from their site months ago with no reply.)

Also can someone please confirm this is the full chapter 4 translation, it looks strangely short compared to every other chapter.

Edit : How did feed-back get turned into poke?

Yes, Question, chapter four is shorter than the other chapters. It's a filler/intro to the Gandalfr arc. Sorry for not confirming it earlier, but I wouldn't have posted it incomplete. ^^;;
