Wow. You guys are more optimistic than I am about Detroit. They have been "rebuilding" for decades. The last time they were decent is when Barry Sanders was their RB, and they were rivals with the Vikings. The day the Lions win the Super Bowl will be the day a very warm place freezes over.

That reminds me of a joke I heard recently.

A rich Texas man dies, and was, as they say in Texas, "BAAD, BAAD, BAAD!!" So, he goes to hell to be tortured by the devil.

The devil says to him, snickering, "Since you have been such a bad person all of your life, I am going to make it extra hot for you here."

The man accepts his fate. The temperature increases, and the devil asks him, "So, are you baking yet?"

The man replies, "Meh. It feels like Texas in July."

The devil, somewhat irritated, says, "Fine. I am going to make it even hotter."

The temperature increases once again, and the devil queries, "Do you feel like you are on fire yet?"

The man coolly answers, "This is only like Texas in August."

The devil is irate now and replies, "If you are so smart, how about this?! I am going to make it frigid in here like you have never felt before."

The man says in shock, "Hell froze over! Holy crap! The Astros must have won the World Series."

Wow. That's terrible. I'm slightly obliged to like the Astros because the Braves trader Schaffer to them. But, that's it.

All the players I know from them are Heyward, Jones and Jurriens. And I might be wrong.

No, you're right. Jair Jurrjens is one of our best starting pitchers. Chipper Jones has been with the Braves forever. Heyward is one of our best outfielders, even thought it's only his second season.

Jurrjens and Heyward are damn young, BTW.

However, I'm waiting for a Washington rookie to dominate in a year of two. Bryce Harper.

We'll see, the Braves are just on a losing streak. I dunno what's up. (I used to get all there games in South Carolina, you don't in Cali. )

Although, NFL analysis anyone? I thought yesterday surprised me a little. Detroit beat Tampa Bay (They're 1-0 right now, who would have predicted that?)

The Bills winning did actually surprise me, but I haven't heard anything about Kansas City. Last season neither team was that good from what I remember.

Cam Newton played way better than I thought he would. That definitely left me in awe. I only watched highlights, because the San Diego game was on, but from what I saw, in a year or so, the panthers might actually become a better contender.

What are you talking about?! The Chiefs got their butts handed to them 41-7 by the Bills. No surprise there. Almost everyone in Kansas City thinks that they are one of the most hopeless teams in all of football. Living in Kansas City, I can say that will quite a bit of certainty.

The Chiefs aren't hopless....they're just....misunderstood and should be in the NCAA not NFL.
