Well in California all you need to say Bay Area or LA, and everyone knows where you live....

LA. The only city that I have been only to once or twice. We leave the airport there and have a fun road trip to vegas.

Now San Diego, that's where you'll find me every year.

Internship pays. Don't turn it down. Having a degree in hand without some related job experience on your resume doesn't do an awful lot of good.

And if it actually gives you a paycheck, so much the better...

FWIW, my last real summer vacation was the summer after I graduated from High School. 1976.

Depends on your definition of workaholic. I'm always busy, but earning my paycheck is only part of that time (never more than 48 hours per week).

I said that I hadn't had a summer vacation since 1976, but what I meant was summer vacation in the student sense: ten weeks of nothing to do. That's not the same as never having a vacation. The longest vacation we've ever had was five weeks in Peru, visiting with my wife's family. Since then my employers have insisted in no more than two weeks gone at a time...

I'm trying to get an engineering internship at Laurence Berkeley National Laboratory. Hopefully my application passes.

GMT -5 US EST. As my location states, New York. I miss the good old days of living in Arizona and not having to follow DST.
