Late Salutations
So I was browsing these forums a little more, and I saw that contrary to the written rules, it seems to be polite to introduce oneself when first coming on to the forums. I've already been disrupting some of the Haruhi Suzumiya topics, but a formal announcement seems to be in order.
(Ahem)
I am HAL9000, named for the psychotic computer from the 2001: A Space Odyssey film and book. I discovered Baka Tsuki in my search for Haruhi Suzumiya material, and found to my disappointment that few other sites even acknowledge the existance of the novel series, let alone offer discussion opportunities. Fortunately, these forums seemed to be a relatively lively and interesting place, and I have enjoyed what little time I've spent here so far.
Myself, I just discovered the Haruhi franchise a month or so ago, and have become a complete fanboy. I've never liked any anime or manga before, of the little I've bothered with, but I just can't get enough of the SOS Brigade. (Not to insult those who like Japanese entertainment, or the mediums themselves; I'm very picky, and have similarly exclusive opinions about much of broadcast TV, comic books, and novels.)
So, in closing, I'm happy to be here, indulging my "Haruhiism". Special thanks to the translators for bringing us the books, and to onizuka-gto for helping me with my registration troubles.
